Lovely Stay
My husband and I spent 2 nights at this lovely hotel and enjoyed our stay.
Staff were really nice. A bit disappointing on returning from a day out to find the bar closed before 10pm. It would have been nice to have a nightcap.
Beautiful looking hotel but the service was poor
Stayed here for the weekend as part of a birthday present.
Hotel looks beautiful and room was nice but the service was poor.
Had our evening meal in the restaurant on the first night and while the food was OK needed to wait so long to be served for drinks, ended up going to the bar ourselves.
Breakfast was buffet style, the hot food was cold as they just poured the hot food on the cold. The orange juice was warmer. Cold toast, no condiments or cutlery so when they arrived the breakfast was even colder.
To top it off was charged to go to the bar for own drinks.
Another enjoyable stay
This was our second stay at the Wroxton and once again we loved the old world charm of this building having stayed in what appeared to be the broom cupboard at the top of the stairs last time which although a lovely room had a tiny angled door to enter this time we thought we struck lucky with room 2 only to find after 2 flights of stairs we opened the door to find a further flight of stairs up into a lovely loft bedroom with large en-suite facilities but it certainly wouldn t suit anyone with mobility problems but it did lead to some amusement The staff were really helpful and the restaurant meal very nice but best of all is the freshly cooked breakfast each morning so much better than the self service breakfasts offered in many hotels I would happily stay here again
Really enjoyable
We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. The staff were particularly helpful (specifically, Ella, waitress, Ollie, bar, Sue at breakfast and Fred the chef). Although there was a hiccup at the end of our 2nd evening meal, the problem was resolved to our satisfaction. Probably best to make sure all staff know about the details of the 2nd night's meal. But this did not spoil our stay at all. We will be back!! Thank you all (and thanks for the wonderful greeting from the receptionist and her farewell at the end of our stay. Great smile!)
A lovely hotel
Staff were really friendly & professional.
Room was clean and had everything you need.
Breakfast was delicious.
Would definitely recommend and will be returning at some point
Pleasant
The hotel and staff were lovely, however, the continental breakfast was disappointing, there was very little choice. The cooked breakfast took around three quarters of an hour to arrive on both days of our stay.
Lovely getaway
Had a lovely stay in this pretty village hotel. Our room was large with a seating area and king size bed and lovely and character full. The bathroom is the only bit that lets it down slightly as it could really use an upgrade to make it as nice as the room. Really good bar and restaurant with attentive and friendly staff. Our evening meal was very nice and good portion sizes. Breakfast was a bit of a mixed bag, good continental selection and the avocado on sourdough was nice. The eggs benedict was a bit disappointing with a non toasted muffin, overcooked eggs and what looked like cheap square sandwich ham. Overall I would definitely recommend and stay again as all the important things were right and it was a nice night away.
