Another great stay!
Our second stay at WH - all good ... staff really helpful throughout (especially the breakfast team!).
Food was excellent!!
We hope to return soon. Thank you so much!
last minute Bank Holiday weekend break
Managed to get the last room available which was a Standard Room, however was very pleasantly surprised with the comfort and standard of the room and bathroom. The young staff were all very helpful and courteous and are a credit to the team, The Manageress went out of her way to be helpful
A special mention to the chef, we ate in both nights and the food was exceptional and really well presented, which made for a perfect stay.
Great stay!
We stayed for 2 nights - superb greeting from Florence who was SO helpful, throughout. Food was great. Bartender/waiter (Joshua) was excellent at our 1st evening's dinner. Breakfast were really enjoyable with several ladies seeing to our every need - so good to see the staff happy to chat for a minute or two (about local places to see etc). Just a thoroughly enjoyable stay ... my only negative was that the shower seemed REALLY tricky to operate (ie a lot of water came through before the temperature setting was just right ... and strangely, the setting changed from shower to shower!)
Would recommend (and have done!) this hotel to anyone. THANK YOU for such a great stay. We're returning late June.
Short break
We enjoyed our stay, lovely village with good access to surrounding area.
Staff very friendly but a bit young and inexperienced, not always able to answer queries.
Disappointing birthday surprise
The room in the cottage wad lovely but we didn't arrive until 5.00 on a cold Febbruary afternoon and there was no heating on.
Went for dinner reserved at 8.15, fire had gone out no candles lit, asked to be moved from first location. It was so cold and draughty. Moved table but still no radiator on. Menu disappointing. Lovely starter but main course looked like it had been dumped on the plate for 26. Didn't bother to stay for dessert. Breakfast awful. Went to breakfast at 9.30 supposedley finished at 10.00. Staff languidly pointed at the buffet and left us to it. No bread or pastres, and no fruit salad left. Hot food was cold and we couldn't eat it. Had to go and ask for toast, then no marmalade. Coffee from a flask was luke warm. A disappointing stay for my surprise 60th birthday.
GREAT STAY
we were only staying one night and there happened to be a wedding on that day, however the staff were excellent and the lay out was perfect can't see the wedding effecting us much
the food menu was excellent and cooked to perfection, the room was a good size and well decorated, clean and a comfy bed
set in a very small pretty village a great hotel with exceptional staff

In need of TLC
The hotel is for sale and it showed. There was a definite lack of investment in upkeep. Our, so called, Executive room was accessed via an outside alley which needed, at least, sweeping and up a narrow staircase which had spindles missing.
Whilst the room was clean the toilet was dripping, the shower was very difficult to control and the showerscreen allowed water to escape onto the floor. In addition it faced onto the busy road thus the noise and lights of passing vehicles were intrusive. The room could be described as having character but we were aware of noise from above and below.
The restaurant lacked any ambience and needed decorating.
The food was acceptable except on the first night when the beef burgers were burnt and very dry. A promise of free starters or desserts the next day was not passed on to reception.
The staff were all very pleasant but lacked some training.
