Lovely hotel in a beautiful picture book village

VN, Nottinghamshire, stayed: July 2019

Finding this hotel was a great surprise, set in a golden stone small village. Service was excellent, all the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We had a really good dinner and breakfast, plenty of choice and special. Our room was large with two TVs and a lounge are, really comfortable. A great stay and a good location.

Wonderful, cosy, relaxing country village hotel - will definitely be returning!

Michelle, West Sussex, stayed: September 2019

This was our first stay at this hotel - chosen because of its close proximity to the M40 as we wanted to break our journey back home having dropped our youngest off to uni in Cheshire. It was also our 30th wedding anniversary the following morning, so we wanted somewhere comfortable, upmarket and quiet to completely chill out and relax after our busy uni trip, but also to treat ourselves. This hotel was the perfect choice! The room was as expected with a great deal for a Sunday night (romantic lazy break or something), which included prosecco, chocolates, an allowance towards dinner and late check out - we just needed to pay extra for drinks with dinner. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious and high quality. Staff were friendly and helpful. Just wish we had had more time to enjoy the hotel itself - next time!

Fabulous Gloucestershire Bolt Hole

James M, Dorset, stayed: September 2019

A notable welcome greets you, once you've worked out where the main front door is. It is less obvious than it should be!
For the price, I felt the room could have been larger and more luxurious. It was clean, very comfortable and well presented however. The chocolates and Prosecco were a nice touch.
The restaurant food was a pleasant surprise. Delicious, presented with flair and efficiently served.
Make no mistake, this is an excellent and well run hotel.
Well worth a visit.

Friendly staff - clean comfortable room - Prosecco was a nice touch - bit of a muddle between bar service and seating for dinner but delicious food - very average breakfast a bit disappointing. Nice pretty village but shame no local pub for a stroll before or after dinner.

Mini Break

Our first stay; helpful staff on arrival; room comfortable, food good, accept a limited menu in this difficult time, everything offered on the booking was made available so overall good value and would recommend to others.

Wroxton House Nr Banbury, Coxwolds

JH, North Yorkshire, stayed: October 2020

Unfortunately the break was taken whilst Covid restrictions were in place so parts of the hotel were shut off to facilitate distancing. The staff were possibly the most friendly and attentive I have known. The hotel was clean with a lovely ambiance and the food was fantastic. Breakfasts although restricted were also lovely and the english breakfast set you up for the day. If there was any faults it only related to the room, the view was of a roof and the shower was not the most powerful, but that is a personal opinion and they did not spoil the stay too much.
