A quirky cosy hotel in pretty country town

Anon, stayed: September 2025

I stayed with a friend at Widbrook Grange. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel. It is quirky with a cute gin bar and stable block bedrooms. The restaurant was a bit characterless but the service and food were excellent. There was a small gym and indoor pool to work off the great food!! I d say the best thing about the hotel was the staff. Everyone was very welcoming and helpful and really made our stay enjoyable.

Pleasant

David H, Berkshire, stayed: August 2025

A good stay, it was all inclusive but the allowance for supper only, really, covered a main course! The setting was very countified, but the map of (dog) walks we were given was rather confusing! A good night, the staff were very positive except the man at reception when we got there, who was rather brusque.

Home on the Grange

MW, Hampshire, stayed: August 2025

We stayed for two nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable time. All of the staff that we encountered were friendly, helpful and polite. Our room was spacious, clean and comfortable. We both enjoyed exploring the extensive grounds, and particularly some of the quirky statuary and agricultural implements. However, the gardens would benefit from a bit of maintenance.

The food was very good, both breakfast and dinner.

The gin bar was a revelation. You would need much longer than a 2 night stay to do it justice.

Our only (minor) gripes were that the pop-up bath plug in our room didn't work, so we were limited to taking showers. Also in our bathroom a shelf adjacent to the hand basin would have been very welcome. There was no convenient place to put razor/shaving soap/toothbrushes etc.

Unimpressed

Anon, stayed: August 2025

WiFi very intermittent. Poor food choice. Outside seemed unkempt. Bathroom nowhere to store washing equipment.
Overall, not impressed.

Great Stay near Bath

DH, stayed: August 2025

A friend and I stayed to catch up and visit the area, including Bath. The hotel is easy to get to through lovely place called Bradford on Avon. The main house is gorgeous and the converted out buildings where room are have been done very nicely. There is no fridge but there was water and tea and coffee supplied. The restaurant food was very very good and the bar stocked lots of different gins. The barman was very knowledgeable and helpful.we had great stay and would definitely stay again. The deal with off peak luxury that included one welcome drink, breakfast both days and 30 towards the evening meal was a good deal for quality of room and food.

Great location for exploring Bath and surrounding area.

Quirky country hotel just outside Bradford on Avon. Our room was very comfortable if a little tired in places. The restaurant food was excellent. The hotel was ideally placed as a relaxing base to explore the Bath area.
