Unfortunately due to covid 19 we didn't feel it was value for money. We requested the lift to be checked as it closed on my wrist which caused an injury. The hotel itself was lovely however little to do in the are

Restaurant poor

NS, South Yorkshire, stayed: October 2019

Biggest let down was the magnolia restaurant. The evening meal was poor and didn't meet our expectations. We were given an allowance of 30 per person, which certainly wasn't enough! Should have tried the other restaurant but didn't. Could not fault breakfast though. Can't fault the rest of the hotel in any way. Julie in particular was more than helpful.

We thoroughly enjoyed our brief stay and the chateaubriand was perfect.

Overnight stay with luxury extras

Anon, stayed: October 2020

We visited the hotel as it was located close to Bicester shopping village (it s a little too far for my liking under 20 mins would be better) the hotel is running well during the Covid secure constraints. We had booked a twin as it was a very late booking and the hotel managed to switch us to a double room which we were very grateful for! Prosecco and chocolates were a lovely treat in the room. We had a few drinks in the bar and the bar manager who was serving both there and in the dining room was warm and friendly and kept my wife topped up with wine. The meal was nice but the staff were under pressure which did show with delays and not the ease and warmth seen by other staff. Breakfast had a completely different feel, a warm welcome! special birthday treat I got extra sausage and bacon and a Happy birthday from the Chef which was nice. The manager was excellent warm and friendly and knowledgeable.thank you

Whilst I could not fault any of the facilities at the hotel - the images on the internet suggest a more rural location than it actually is ! Its location is at the top of a steep road out of Faringdon and walking into the town downhill is OK but coming back on foot would be a bit arduous.
We did not attempt it at our age ( 76 & 80 )

My wife and I enjoyed a brief stay at the hotel in between christmas and new year. We found the staff pleasant and helpful and the room very comfortable. Would recommend.
