Wonderful

Ian D, stayed: March 2025

Receptionist Mary got our stay off to a great start with her smile, warmth and friendliness. All the staff were helpful and Leo with Ryan in the bar / restaurant were friendly and so professional. Evening meal and breakfast were cooked beautifully with a good choice on both menus. Good weather meant that we could enjoy drinks in their lovely garden. Excellent stay.

Nice hotel with a good restaurant, shame about the lack of a lift.

Staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Dinner was lovely and we were looking forward to breakfast but unfortunately were disappointed with cooked breakfast. The buffet option was ok.

Where do we start.....

JB, Gloucestershire, stayed: November 2024

This was a birthday gift. We were promised a superior room, however, we were at the end of a corridor which was cold, a vacuum cleaner had been abandoned in said corridor with the cable draped across the carpet which was dirty and dusty. Our room was small and had no chairs. The carpet was also stained. The shower room was very small and the shower head almost useless. Superior it was not. This gift included a meal allowance for each of us, which we were within, plus pre dinner cocktails. Since we don't drink cocktails we were offered a glass each of house wine which we accepted. We had a glass of the same house wine with our meal. Imagine our surprise when we checked out to be presented with a bill for 118 - our meals, the aforementioned pre dinner glasses of wine and the inevitable service charge. When I told the receptionist that we only owed for two glasses of wine she said the restaurant hadn't let reception know we were on a 'meal deal'. Strange that because when we checked in the then receptionist was well aware of the 'deal' we were on. The one saving grace was our food. Would we stay there again? No thank you.
