Review for Manor House Hotel

Anon, stayed: May 2014

Lovely hotel, beautiful gardens. Staff very helpful, gave us an upgrade without us asking! It was very nice to be give n a vegetarian menu for one of us to choose ffom as usually we have quite a problem.
We had a lovely evening meal and good service. We would certainly stay there again and would be happy to recommend this hotel.

Lovely hotel and staff

CM, Hants, stayed: October 2014

Welcome from reception very good, she was friendly and helpful, showing us around the downstairs area before taking us to our room. The hotel is a bit higgledy-piggledy in layout which adds to its charm.

Dinner - well what can I say? Restaurant staff very friendly and helpful, service was a little slow but if you are getting freshly made food then you must be prepared to wait, and my, was it worth the wait. The food is amazing.

Breakfast - again great staff and lovely food.

Nothing to complain about the area is lovely, the hotel is lovely and the staff are a credit to the owners.

Our confirmation said we would be upgraded if available, but we weren't upgraded. Disappointed.

LM, Essex, stayed: April 2015

Our confirmation email said that we would be upgraded if available, but we weren't upgraded. We were disappointed with that. For the money we thought our room would be better than it was. Our room was also the fire escape route which meant had there been a fire, other guests would have had to go through our room to get to the fire escape. We didn't like that.

We say...

As part of the package, there is a complimentary bedroom upgrade subject to availability on the day of check in however unfortunately all the higher graded rooms had been booked so this was not possible.
We have contacted the hotel, and your fire escape route which was from the bathroom was only for your use. All other guests had direct access to the main fire escape so would not have come through your room. Your bedroom locked and operated as normal.
Kind regards
Offpeakluxury

Love the Manor House and everything about it. Very charming and very welcoming with great service. Food is great but have to say, the portions are pretty small. Could have eaten my dinner twice as first time there just wasn't enough! Make sure you have a big lunch or you may be hungry after dinner. Breakfast however was fabulous and with great portions! Great location and within easy reach of many super places. Very relaxing and cosy hotel. Look forward to going back there again and again!

Manor House Hotel Moreton in Marsh says...

Thank you for your comments and I am pleased to hear you are a fan of The Manor House!

I was of course sorry to hear that The Mulberry Restaurant wasn't quite to your satisfaction on this occasion and while I would suggest that we provide a four course meal which balances quality ingredients, rich sauces and exquisite presentation it is equally important that our guests feel satisfied and apologies if this was not the case on this visit.

We are lucky to also host the Beagle Brasserie within The Manor House which provides refined hearty fayre and is a great alternative to The Mulberry.

Either way, we look forward to welcoming you back to The Manor House in the near future perhaps.

Regards

Simon Stanbrook
General Manager
