Not as expected

Anon, stayed: September 2021

Due to COVID-19 most of the services expected weren t available. No room services given. No Valet parking or help with luggage. The restaraunt is definitely not gourmet dining it is of good standard but stops there. As an instance on the first evening I decided I would have the rack of lamb which turned out to be two complete small lamb chops at an extra charge of 7. A rack of lamb as the name suggests comes in a rack with just the eye of the chop with the fatty end removed from the bone. The actual size of the meals were very small in size and what would be given in most restaurants as part of a tasting menu. On our arrival there was a bottle of champagne in our room which we decide we would have later in the evening so we asked at reception for more ice to be delivered for 20:30, this never arrived so we asked for ice to be delivered at the same time on the second night that never happened either so we ended up bringing the champagne home. After these things regarding problems or faults the hotel is in an excellent position and the staff were attentive and gave excellent service.

Disappointing food

Terence H, Surrey, stayed: September 2021

The evening meal menu was very limited and was the only option available for the 2 nights. The portions were small and some items were not cooked well. The on suite door closes whilst passing through catching your arm as you pass through. The SQ code system for obtaining hotel was illegible on a mobile phone because it could not be magnified.

Lovely relaxing stay close to Cheltenham.

Hannah, Warwickshire, stayed: September 2021

I recently visited here for two nights with my husband for his birthday. The room was lovely and In keeping with the house, comfy beds and clean. It is the first hotel we have been to that has encountered a service change added to our bill at the check out. Our meals were tiny, the menu was also the same for both nights stay and we were limited what to choose as there were only 5 mains, 3 of these were vegetarian. A few of the mains also had added supplement costs which I was not happy with as the portion sizes are tiny. Breakfast we had full English, again small and dry, no beans or tomatoes.
We got asked if we would like water with our meal which I thought would be free, no not at all at 4.50 charge. The spa was nice but we were only given 45 minutes, the jacuzzi outside needs a good clean and new jets as it was just like a tub of hot water, you could not feel the jets. We enjoyed our stay but for how much it cost it could of been better and we wouldn t go back.

Dinner bed and breakfast stay

SF, Worcestershire, stayed: September 2021

Lovely driveway to the hotel off the main road. On arrival, was welcomed straight away, taken to our lovely room and given our complimentary Prosecco. Room had a nice view and was well stocked. Before dinner, we had a drink in the fabulous grounds served by a lovely chatty lady. Food for dinner was lovely although not having the salmon was disappointing. Breakfast was great although it was a little disorganised (no menus on the tables). I need to stress however, we had a lovely time and would recommend.

Hotel review

Very comfortable hotel and lovely room. The room was cleaned when requested.
The food was delicious, however the menu didn't change very much in the week.
Also would have liked a small fridge in the room.
Very friendly staff. Relaxing Spa and very clean.

Anniversary break

Anon, stayed: September 2021

We were given a voucher for a one night stay including dinner, spa and breakfast, we couldn t fault anything, the staff were very friendly and attentive. We stayed in the master room, very luxurious and a great view overlooking the beautiful gardens. Thoroughly spoilt and enjoyed everything about the day, definitely will go back again at some point.
