Review of the Greenway

Paul, Isle of Wight, stayed: June 2018

We were put in a loft room for our first night - far too hot, little ventilation and a noisy a/c heat exchanger ( not for our room ) outside the window. Windows would not open far and outlook was over a semi derelict part of the hotel. Neither of us slept. Occupancy was low so there was no reason to put us in this room.
We were moved on the second night into a much better, well ventilated room - with only a moderately good grace by the reception staff - after I complained.
Hotel gardens are in poor condition needing maintenance. This is completely at different from the description in the Telegraph that we responded to.
Hotel generally tired - past glories fading away.
HOWEVER - dinner 2nd night superb. This is clearly the hotel's strength.

Initially difficult to find with the sat nav taking us to the wrong destination. Problems with a ceiling leak from the room above which required a room move. Portions of food very small which left us feeling less than satisfied - the pressure appeared to be on presentation rather than sufficient portions.

An A Star Hotel with B Star food

MO, West Midlands, stayed: May 2018

The only disappointment for both my wife and I was the food which we felt was of poor in quality and quantity. The bacon at breakfast seemed to be microwaved and the selection of fruits and cereals was limited. We only had one evening meal thankfully and the steak was tasteless and not very tender My wife had fish with no vegetables to speak of and I had to ask for chips to at least fill her up.  Maybe the chef had a bad day as it is a beautiful hotel with very friendly and helpful staff in very relaxing and lovely surroundings.
