Review of the Greenway
We were put in a loft room for our first night - far too hot, little ventilation and a noisy a/c heat exchanger ( not for our room ) outside the window. Windows would not open far and outlook was over a semi derelict part of the hotel. Neither of us slept. Occupancy was low so there was no reason to put us in this room.
We were moved on the second night into a much better, well ventilated room - with only a moderately good grace by the reception staff - after I complained.
Hotel gardens are in poor condition needing maintenance. This is completely at different from the description in the Telegraph that we responded to.
Hotel generally tired - past glories fading away.
HOWEVER - dinner 2nd night superb. This is clearly the hotel's strength.
Fantastic weekend
Me and my partner had a one night stay and spa treatment at the greenway hotel as a birthday treat for him, it was an absolutely amazing weekend the spa and treatments west brilliant the hotel and room was outstanding the food was delicious and the grounds were beautiful would highly recommend and will be revisiting ourselves
A relaxing hotel.
The hotel was in a handy location for Cheltenham and we loved the Rocco gardens at Painswick tickets for which were included as part of the hotel package. The view from carriage house bedroom were beautiful and the hotel gardens were a very relaxing place to sit. We did not make use of the spa and so we cannot comment on it although the facilities looked good. The breakfasts were very tasty and the welcome drink was very welcome.
Enjoyable stay
My husband and I went here to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. Firstly sat nav and road markings don t get you to the main drive but nice situation once we arrived. First thing at reception we got questioned about had we booked two rooms by the duty manager, which we had not. When we were shown to our room we found they had put our champagne in our room even though phoning that morning to ask if we could have it the following day on our anniversary. The next day it didn t arrive and we had to ask for it. The room was very nice and spacious and the little touches like home made biscuits and turning down the bed in the evening was lovely. The bar man was very efficient, professional and friendly. On the first night in the restaurant we found the table that we were given was very close to other people and not very romantic. The following day we asked to move to a far better table which we did. Overall the staff were very good in the restaurant apart from the second night our main course was given to someone else and after a couple of minutes was then given to us, we were not too pleased with that . Overall our stay was enjoyable.
perfect and luxurious.
We wanted a few days away in the cotswolds and liked the look of this hotel as well as the location between gloucester and cheltenham. We did expect the hotel to offer us what was described but we were overwhelmed by the whole experience. Everything was first class, a very successful break away and wished we had booked a longer stay, but there is always a next time! thank you to everyone at the hotel for giving us such a wonderful experience.

Terrible experience
We arrived at the hotel half an hour after check in opened to be told we didn t have a room booked even though we had paid in full online. After 30minutes waiting for them to find us a room we were given our keys and not told about any of the free services included with our stay (we were meant to get free afternoon tea, use of spa and evening meal). We finally arrived in our room confused, disappointed and didn t know what to do during our stay or where and what time we were able to enjoy the use of spas and free afternoon tea. We went back down to reception to find out further information and were guided toward the lounge for afternoon tea. We then waited an hour in total to be served and finally receive our tea. When booking the stay I specified both me and my girlfriend were vegetarian and we were given sandwiches with meat on them and when we told the server they did nothing and left them on our table. Finally after a disappointing afternoon tea we decided to shrug it off and go relax in the spa. We arrive at the spa and we re told no information on what times we could book spa treatments so after changing into our robes we asked at the reception for them to tell us it had finished while we were waiting for our afternoon tea. We were very disappointed with the lack of communication from hotel and spa staff and what was meant to be a relaxing spa retreat ended up being stressful and confusing
