Short Break Stay
Great location. Staff always helpful and good car parking. Room was generous in size and clean but just a little tired. Tasty breakfast and great area to explore.
Good location for exploring the area
As in the tittle. Bit under staffed hence waiting around for people to appear then running around to catch up.
Lack of staff spoilt our break.
Although the staff who were there did their best to provide a service they were unable to cover everything .
Service in the restaurant was poor and the menu was very repetitive. There was no information about the local area at the reception desk and we only stumbled on the stately home across the road by accident!
Non relaxing break
Booked an Executive room short break. Room had no wardrobe or anywhere to hang clothes, cobwebs hanging from the ceiling and on the walls and floor where the wardrobe had been was damp. The hotel could not change rooms for us on the first night as they were fully booked. We changed rooms next morning and that room was fine although it was not an executive room. We were given a complimentary dinner and bottle of wine that evening. At dinner I requested some more Parmesan cheese for my meal and were told that it was portioned out and I would have to wait to see if anyone ordered the meal with Parmesan until later. After the meal we were sat in the bar area talking to another couple when the restaurant manager gave me a bill for the dinner!! I told him that it was complimentary as agreed with the General Manager that morning. After some heated discussion on my part he relented and zeroed the bill.
Overall not an enjoyable stay and certainly not relaxing!!
Lovely break
We had a wonderful stay. Rooms clean and spacious. Good well presented food. Great location.
Pleasant hotel in good location
The hotel was pleasant, with a clean and good-sized ensuite bedroom and a comfortable bar, in contemporary decor. Staff were helpful, catering carefully for a special diet. Restaurant food was fair: rather limited in choice and somewhat unadventurous. A good choice of cooked and continental breakfast items. The hotel was well-placed for visiting local National Trust properties (including Charlecote Park, next door), Leamington Spa, Warwick and Stratford. It was just right for a two-night stay.
SOME STAFF NEED SHAKING UP.
NICE CLEAN ROOMS. EVEN THOUGH NEW CARPETS WERE BEING LAID AND SOME PAINTING BEING DONE IT DIDN'T AFFECT US. BAR STAFF AND RESTAURANT STAFF DIN'T SEEM PARTICULARLY HAPPY IN THEIR WORK. LACK OF STAFF ON LAST BREAKFAST OF OUR STAY.
ONE BISCUIT WITH THE TEA AND COFFEE IN THE ROOM SEEMED A BIT TIGHT. MOST MEALS VERY GOOD EXCEPT FOR ON THE LAST NIGHT. THE GARLIC MUSHROOMS WHICH WE'D ENJOYED PREVIOUSLY WERE COMPLETELY DIFFERENT. WE WERE TOLD BECAUSE AGENCY STAFF WERE ON THAT NIGHT. WHEN WE REMARKED ON THIS TO 3 STAFF BEHIND THE BAR, THEY REALLY COULDN'T CARE LESS.
