Well located hotel for Stratford visit

The hotel offers various accommodation all of which appears to be in buildings on the same site but not within the same building as the bar and restaurant hence necessitating the need to go outside for meals. Fine in good weather. Our room was up two flights of steep stairs and no lift available. We managed with a struggle but should have been asked at time of booking if that was OK.
Obvious that dogs were allowed as quite a few around . Again this should be advised at time of booking.
Staff were pleasant and helpful.

Disappointing stay

The first room we went into was absolutely scorching, no air conditioning and a fan. I went to Reception and got us moved to a cooler room still without air-conditioning but another fan. Our stay was a voucher for a birthday present off my daughter. The complimentary drink was a feeble glass of wine in the most tiny glasses. We booked a table in the restaurant and had a 25 credit each towards our dining. I went to the bar and asked for a bottle of saviour blanc and 2 proper wine glasses. The wine was warm and the same tiny glasses were given to me. I refused to take the wine and glasses explaining why. I went over to our room and bought over my own correct wine glasses and waited for the wine from the freezer. We ordered a chicken strip starter and garlic mushrooms and asked for the pepperopizza. We were told that no pizzas were available. The starters were very very poor 4 mushrooms on a crumpet and 3 chicken strips. I spoke in a calm and dignified way and was given a free bottle of wine and the wine which id ordered. The whole experience was a disgrace. Ive travelled the world at various hotels and this was the worst hotel ive ever been in.

Spacious rooms and lovely staff

What stands out to me is how beautifully the room had been made up when we were out for the day and how comfortable it was. I had very nice fish and chips in the restaurant although served without tartare sauce as they had run out. Sunday morning s breakfast was chaotic, they ran out of mugs and one coffee machine broke. Had to go back to room for a brew. Breakfast offering a bit limited but perhaps commensurate with the price. Most of the staff were absolutely lovely and I would totally stay here again.

Good value 3 day break

I have already submitted a review to the hotel which I gave in more detail. It was a nice hotel well situated very competitive price with a good restaurant (4/5) and a clean room and bathroom (with bath and shower rather than the fashionable but unacceptable shower-only layout). Helpful and polite staff.

The menu we thought very limited in what was available to us to many pizza and burger meals
And everything was with chips or mash.
Also we were told when we arrived we had always sit at the same few tables by the window
Which made us feel different to other diners we didn t think that was very welcoming.
The room was very nice though.

Very good hotel

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and being the 2 hotest days of the year.The only problem was the room had no air conditioning although there was a unit in the ceiling. Went to Reception to ask if it was working. Chloe the receptionist was very good and explained the reason why and offered a fan which was good and solved the problem. The restaurant staff of Aisling and Sharay were very helpful and polite. I would recommend the hotel and will use again.
