Fantastic food
Lovely stay. Room comfortable especially the huge bed! Highlight of the stay was the fabulous food - high end restaurant quality in The Fig - couldn t fault it. Breakfast was also excellent.
Excellent restaurant supported by very good waiting staff
A nice comfortable town centre hotel but restaurant overpriced
A lovely town centre hotel with good parking and helpful staff.
On the first night we ate in the restaurant, the food was lovely although limited choice (just four mains one of which was vegetarian )unfortunately the portions were small and rather over priced. For the remainder of our stay we found plenty of good places to eat within a few hundred yards of the hotel including Italian, Indian and really good pub food.
On reporting a missing sink plug this was no problem and staff delt with it immediately although rather bizaarly on reporting no loo brush we were told this is due to health and safety!
Be aware, the hotel trys to add a 10% service charge to all extras on the final bill.
All in all a nice comfortable hotel and would stay there again.
Fab picturesque village mini-break
My husband and I had just a night's stay at Cotswold House for a brief break. The hotel is right in the centre of Chipping Campden, so perfectly placed for a slow wander around the main street and surrounds. We parked out front (20min free) for check-in, then moved the car around the back by the separate spa house. Really warm welcome, we had pre-booked the spa (just pool, bubbles and steam room, treatments available) so had a lovely couple of hours before returning for prosecco in our room followed by dinner in the restaurant. Was a quiet evening, the food was lovely. The room wasn't that big but the bed was and the ensuite, TV and coffee making facilities were great. It's a quiet spot so we weren't disturbed in the night. We were up again for a wonderful breakfast - both a la carte and buffet, then a wander around the village before one more spa session. Can recommend!
Even an accident couldn't spoil this!
My wife and I booked a 1 night stay and enjoyed the food and every moment until she tripped and fell in the night (not the hotel's fault - let this be a lesson: turn the light on!). Sadly the result was quite a serious back injury but the hotel staff - no names, you know who - were excellent, sympathetic and helpful. We'll be back, and more careful!
Excellent location and good facilities
The hotel is inviting, the lobby and bar/restaurants are all welcoming and well presented. Food quality is good, choice limited so staying more than one night means your options for dinner rapidly shrink. Our bedroom was quite small (as was the bathroom) with no views out of the windows but the bed was comfortable and the room quiet.
For a short break the hotel is fine and the location is ideal for touring the surrounding area.
