a lovely silver wedding celebration venue

RH, Gloucestershire, stayed: October 2024

We wanted a short break in the Cotswolds over our silver wedding anniversary and selected Charingworth Manor and we were very pleased with our choice. Everything about it was first class from the welcome, the staff ,the room , and the food in the restaurant. We would certainly go there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay . The food was delicious - particularly the chocolate millefeur!
The waiting staff were very friendly and professional and the bed was so comfortable - making it hard to get up in the morning .The deal we were on was supposed to include a glass of Prosecco this didn t materialise but that was no matter

Girly break away

Sharon, Wiltshire, stayed: September 2024

6 of us decided to get away and have a girly (old lady really!) break near Chipping Campden as a point of interest. The hotel itself is grand, oldy worldy with Cotswold charm and ambience. The main problem was that we needed twin bedded rooms and that part of the hotel is in serious need of modernisation and refurbishment! Our room was OK but flaking paint, picture missing from wall, very basic and unwelcoming bathroom. My biggest bugbear is that few amenities are provided- you have to ask. There was a hot tub which required staff member to assist taking broken and damaged lid off and on. Apparently both hot tubs and swimming pool are to be removed next year. The restaurant menu, for me, was very limited. Breakfast was excellent. Location stunning!

Wonderful Cotswolds

Alison, Norfolk, stayed: September 2024

The location of this beautiful hotel and the whole area were fantastic. Stunning views, a large clean and comfortable room and very friendly helpful and professional staff. The only disappointment was that we exepcted a better restaurant in a hotle of this type. Whilst the meal we had was perfectly nice the menu choice was not very inspiring or seasonal and we would have struggled to choose anything else if we were there for longer. Apart form this we couldnt fault anything

Disappointed

Nick, Cambridgeshire, stayed: September 2024

Beautiful property which has had the soul ripped from it; interior design at its worst, unsympathetic to the property. Staff had obviously been taught the same script and lacked spontaneity. Overall, the atmosphere was of a corporate business run by accountants. Food was unimaginative with little choice, not very well presented and the restaurant's tub seats were most uncomfortable. Communal areas were rather like John Lewis' furniture department. Net curtains in our bedroom were falling apart. There was no flexibility to change the drinks offer of "fizz" (Prosecco) for a glass of still house wine - "you bought the package, that's what you get". The place needs a client-focused management team experienced in country house hotels.

Very pleasant stay

Jeffrey R, Devon, stayed: September 2024

Stayed two nights with friends. All staff very friendly. Comfortable room and good meals in the restaurant. The good weather enabled us to enjoy champagne outside overlooking the view on our arrival. We were impressed with the pool and made good use of it on both mornings of our stay.
