Two Matters
First on our return to the hotel on our first day, it was about 3.30pm and our room had not been touched (no room service), apparently room service works until 5pm. Anyway within 10 minutes they appeared and we sat in the lounge while it was made up. Not sure what the hotel does when it is really busy, but an unmade up room was a surprise to us.
We stayed for 3 nights and the dinner menu did not change and there were no specials. Because of the options we had to choose options twice rather than trying out three different main courses. This is the second time this has happened T Charingworth and it may result in us going elsewhere next time.
Very good hotel
Very good hotel friendly helpful staff.
A very welcome break
From the moment we drove up the drive our hopes of a luxury Spring break were fulfilled. Everything was perfect, from Reception, to our room, to the cuisine and the pool met our expectations.
We will certainly stay again.
Please keep the larger dining room.
Our experience was improved over previous visits because the function room was being used as the temporary dining room. We have found the actual dining room to be too small and cramped in the past.
Chris was incredibly helpful throughout.
A little disappointing
We were really excited to stay at Charingworth, but unfortunately the overall experience was not so positive. The Rooms were in need of renovation, one of our rooms had a closed view and had limited natural light. The Breakfast was OK, but lacked the variety of fresh and dried fruits that we find in most hotels today. On highlight was the excellent service we had from the waiter in the Dining Room. The site is great.

Slightly dissapointed as Charingworth Manor could be lovely. The rooms & especially the bathroom were fairly dated & in need of some maintenance. The window was not able to be fully secured which in February is not ideal and the shower head flowed as much from the side as the outlet.
Food was enjoyable but not being able to get a capuccino for breakfast is not ideal, my wife does not enjoy filter coffee, we were told the machine was being breakfast?
The impression was the Manor was short staffed, which was why certain things did not run smoothly, however the staff were as attentive as possible.
Great hotel
Everything was perfect. We just found the location was a bit remote.
Enjoyable stay
My husband and I had an enjoyable short stay at the Charingworth Manor in February. It was at the time that renovations/upgrading was taking place on the main part of the hotel, so not everything was running as smoothly as it could. The phone and television in our bedroom suite was not working. However, we did have an extremely good meal and generally enjoyed our stay. Certainly would recommend the food (which was served in the temporary Orangerie restaurant while the main restaurant was undergoing work).
