Great location
Lovely manor but the heated indoor pool was freezing
Luckily we chose the garden hot tub room which was warm and relaxing ,you should replace the cover of hot tub as it was falling apart and polystyrene was getting into the hot tub when taking lid off
Food was delicious

Like a Ferrari, a beautiful thing but needs fine tuning!

The Building and location are superb. The staff were polite and helpful, especially the breakfast waitress, but there are a few points we feel need attention.
We went on a Telegraph short break which included 2 glasses of sparkling wine, which didn't appear, and a 12 o clock checkout, we were told to be out by 11am.
There is very little signage and the building is a bit of a maze and reception is not signed. There is no tourist information anywhere. When we arrived the wi if was down and no TVs signal. We were not advised of this and it stayed off until late afternoon the following day. The beautiful, character building has been recently jet washed which makes it look like a new building.
The menu is limited and in our opinion gualifies as the four P's, purees, pea shoots and paltry portions. Also, we were told there was a dress code in the dining room, no jeans, so we made a special effort to comply, only to find that jeans and tee shirts were the order of the day in the dining room. We found this particularly annoying.
Among the few extras we purchased was afternoon tea, or rather a pot of tea for two, 2 small scones each and the tiniest pot of jam and cream and this was charged at 40 which we thought was bordering on extortionate.
The hotel is under recent new ownership and perhaps is in a transitional stage so some allowances must be made and despite all of the above we enjoyed our stay and would go there again.

A most enjoyable stay. Great views from the restaurant and well prepared food. The extensive refurbishment work did not affect the pleasure of our visit.

Bearing in mind the Manor renovation work that we were aware was taking place when booking we thought there was little disruption for our short stay. So well done to the staff.

Mid week break

Briony, Surrey, stayed: May 2024

An enjoyable break shame abut the weather and renovations. Parking was restricted and the menu was the same both nights. The spa was disappointing just a pool! Staff were friendly but hampered by the changes in the hotel. Our bill was incorrect on first submission but quickly rectified.

Short stay

John, Greater London, stayed: April 2024

Our first concern was that the hotel did not have an EV charging point. Fortunately I checked beforehand so this did not become a problem.
In an hotel that emphasises its gourmet restaurant it was disappointing to find such a limited dinner menu and one that was almost identical on the two evenings we ate there. There was no choice of decaffeinated coffee after dinner.
The breakfasts were adequate although it was impossible to get hot coffee
Clearly the hotel should not advertise its tennis courts. They are currently in an unplayable and dangerous condition. Apart from this we enjoyed our stay

Lovely views from dinning room

Anon, stayed: April 2024

Great location with stunning views from the restaurant
Food was great
Building work was taking place which we were told about beforehand.
Not as luxurious room as I was expecting - room much smaller with just a view of the road
Bathroom light went pop in the middle of night therefore didn t work for rest of night!
