Two night birthday stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our recent stay at Charingworth Manor. As you see we ticked five stars above

We have no hesitation in recommending the Manor for a place to stay.

Relaxing stay

JH, West Midlands, stayed: June 2024

We will definitely be returning. It's one of the best hotels we've stayed in. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, the food is amazing, and we're foodies , but it's the hotel and it's location, which is the real clincher. The views over the Cotswolds are magnificent.
We had a "room" with a little garden and hot tub. The room was large, spotlessly clean, with a king size very comfortable bed. Big fluffy towels, bathrobes and slippers were awaiting us in the bathroom.
The only criticism is that the cover on the hot tub was very worn, and we were worried it was going to break in half. We mentioned this on checking out, and were told they are looking to replace it.

Notes on a return visit

Anon, stayed: June 2024

Having enjoyed Christmas packages at Charingworth, we were interested to see it after its change of ownership and on-going refurbishment. Unfortunatelyl, the first thing I noticed on arrival was the canned music (apparently something called 'accoustic' on a loop). The receptionist did, to her credit, offer to turn it down (not off). If background music is felt necessary to fill a potential silence, perhaps there is something more suitable to a country house hotel. We also had reservations about the new menu offered on the second evening, from which we found it more difficult to choose. Apart from these unfortunate negatives from our point of view, there are many positives, like a large bedroom with two armchairs as well as a desk chair and a bathroom provided with hooks, a towel ring and heated towel rails in a convenient position and good, well lit magnifying mirror, features not always found even in good hotels.

A very happy stay

RW, Cumbria, stayed: June 2024

We booked the hotel as a special offer, and were not disappointed. The location is wonderful - quiet, off the beaten track yet close to Chipping Campden. Our room in the courtyard was spacious and very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed the grounds, especially a pot of tea on the terrace (rather pricy but nice to do), and our evening meal was delicious, as were the breakfasts. The staff were very friendly and helpful throughout. We didn t use the swimming pool in the end. Just a couple of minor criticisms - firstly, it would have been helpful had there been a library with a few maps and some local information (I believe this is on its way) and secondly, the dining room is rather dark, and would benefit from some local pictures on the walls to brighten it up. Having said that, it was an excellent value break and we would certainly return.
