Wonderful Weekend Getaway
It was such a treat to visit Widbrook Grange. It's a characterful house with a relaxing ambience and very comfortable bedrooms which, together with the fabulous food, amazing gin bar, delightful staff and great location make it the perfect place for a weekend stay!
A Great Place to Stay
We had a one night stay, and slept in one of the most comfortable beds we've ever slept in. Check in was friendly and efficient. The room was lovely, and the pre dinner g&t's at this gin palace were great. The starters, and main courses were about the best I've ever eaten at any hotel. Truly superb quality and beautifully presented. The sticky toffee pudding (shared) hit the spot, and the table next to us ordered it for pudding when they saw ours. Another gem, was the Saint Emilion. Not cheap, but worth every penny. It was so good, I've tried to find it for sale, without success. Service for dinner was a bit casual, as it was for breakfast, but overall, it was very good and we are looking forward to staying here again.
Enjoyable two-night stay
Had an ongoing credit from cancellation of a reservation at another hotel due to last year's lockdown. Very pleased with our choice of Widbrook as it was close to locations we wished to visit this time. The package we received made it very good value as it included dining credits and complementary drinks at the amazing 'gin bar'. The room was very comfortable and spotlessly clean and we found all the staff to be very helpful. It is a place where dogs are welcome and for those who wish to dine with their dogs, it was nice to see that there was a separate dining area with dog bed and treats supplied. The only things which I missed in the room was a note of hotel information i.e. meal times, details of pool/spa, etc. and also a small fridge for keeping 'real millk' cool. Apart from that, an excellent stay.
Relaxing country break.
Relaxing break in charming country hotel. Classic room larger than expected. Tasteful decor, very comfortable king size bed. Restaurant excellent, interesting dinner menu and food excellent both at dinner and breakfast.. Quirky gin bar with huge selection of gins. Staff friendly and helpful. COVID measures in place to protect clients not too restrictive.
Booked a manicure and pedicure and facial with Germaine via the website when booking the accommodation, absolutely fabulous. Nearly two weeks later my shellac polish still looks perfect. The facial was such a relaxing treat and Germaine who provides all the treatments in your room was professional and friendly. Highly recommend you treat yourself to a treatment it will really add to your experience.
Pool and small fitness centre available although not used on this occasion. Location near to canal side walk into Bradford on Avon with pubs alongside for refreshments.
Excellent in every way
A special hotel with a lovely atmosphere and first class rooms. Interesting and imaginative dinner menu. In spite of the only small negative of cheap bread used for toast at breakfast, I would highly recommend this hotel. It is exceptionally good value for money.
Staycation Pt2
This was the middle/second section of our staycation.
Check in was definitely CV aware as were the staff.
We had The Artists room (Toulouse Lautrec) I reckon by the keyhole !!
This was certainly memorable and characterful with a very comfortable, big bed.
The hotel was perfectly clean and if anything was needed for the room it was bought to your door on a tray. No staff entered our room during our stay, minimising the risk of CV.
The restaurant was spacious and the tables adequately spaced, while the menu wasn t huge it was all tasty, well cooked and well presented.
Waitstaff both for dinner and breakfast were friendly and efficient.
Couldn t as for more really.
I d recommend to anyone, especially gin drinkers !
Fabulous find near Bradford on Avon
We had a fabulous 2-night stay at Widbrook Grange, we turned up a little early and our room wasn t ready so headed to a nearby pub wasn t quite sure what to expect from this hotel but we really could not have been more pleased. We were upgraded to a gorgeous room with four poster bed, roll-top bath and decent shower room, everything was spotless, the welcome was warm and the food both nights was flawless - the chef is clearly very talented and we managed to run into her and thank her one evening. Excellent service at dinner both nights and at breakfast - nothing was too much trouble. There was a wedding during our stay: the hotel had notified us in advance and I had wondered if the communal areas such as the bar would be full of guests and loud music, however the wedding was in a separate location on the property and had we not been told we would not have even known there was a wedding there that day. Have already recommended to friends and family, would happily spend more time at this lovely hotel. We were busy visiting the local area so did not even have time to take advantage of the pool, we hope to do so on another visit.
Lovely hotel
Lovely room, very comfortable 6 wide bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Everything in room that we needed. Food was great. One of the best breakfasts we ve had and evening meal was delicious and much better than we had anticipated. Thought the cheeseboard slightly let the side down as was expensive/poor value for what we got and the second night we avoided it. Desserts were very good. We will definitely return.
