Beautiful location and a stunning country house hotel with individual rooms and bags of character and charm. Perfect for a romantic weekend away. Very nice restaurant, good quality and good customer service. The Gin bar is excellently stocked and the bar tender very knowledgeable. Logs fires give the public spaces warmth and great character, perfect for curling up next to with a good book and nice glass of wine.

There was no heating the bathroom of our room and as we were on a corner, outside wall that room was quite cold, but our main room was well heated and very nice. The pool was clean and well kept, the water was cold to begin with but once you were in was a perfect temperature for swimming.

A very enjoyable night away which we'll recommend to others. Thank you

Great staff and food but

ZS, Buckinghamshire, stayed: December 2022

We stayed for a couple of nights and I would love to have been able to give 5 stars. The bar and restaurant staff were outstanding as was the food. Lovely pool which we had to ourselves. The room was large, bed was really comfortable but rustic lighting ruined it. It was pretty dark and quite depressing, the lounges in the hotel are very comfy but again have very dim lighting so reading the papers was a challenge. Put in at least one stronger light in the rooms and I would give 5 stars.

Relaxing stay at country house hotel

Catherine, Shropshire, stayed: November 2022

We enjoyed our stay at Widbrook Grange and would recommend to friends. The staff were super friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. We were slightly disappointed to be in the pigsty rather than the main house and the room lacked character to match the ambience of the house. A couple of niggles were the fact that only 1 easy chair when there is room for 2, also no coat hooks for outdoor coats. The weather was wet and windy and there was no lighting between the main house and our room. A nice touch would have been umbrellas for guests use in the main house to get back to room.

We enjoyed our stay.Room was clean and comfortable.
Food was very good but could have done with more choice.Menu the same on both nights.
Breakfast was lovely.
Our only complaint would be the price of drinks but we would return.

A family country escape with great food

AA, Nottinghamshire, stayed: August 2022

The hotel is in some pleasant grounds with a fabulous restaurant. The food is beautifully done. The menu is limited if you are staying and eating dinner there for more than two nights. More so if you are not a vegetarian. Breakfast is lovely too and the beds are very comfortable. Due to location, it is wonderfully very quiet.

Room view

RC, Lincolnshire, stayed: August 2022

I was in room 10. The view out of the front window was of cars parked right outside the window. The view out of the other window was of a garden area unkept with dead plants and overgrown.
We stayed for 3 nights and was allocated this room which was the closest room to a wedding venue on the Friday night. I would have thought this room should have been allocated to one of the wedding guests, so they would not have been affected by the disco which went on until 11pm.
The room itself was very comfortable and clean.
Would stay again but not in that room.
All the staff were friendly and welcoming.
