Delightful break
Excellent peaceful location. Most, if no all, rooms are in external buildings, but ours was very close to the main building and very comfortable. Plenty of space for sitting outside, both on a patio and in the gardens. Very quirky but interesting decor. Staff very helpful and friendly. Swimming pool a great asset. Bar tiny but seating available in a couple of lounges (though the one leading to the restaurant is dangerously dark). Food was good but menu limited - you would not want to stay more than 3 days if eating in. Overall a lovely break.
Great place to explore
The hotel was lovely, the staff were very friendly and helpful, the pool was a lovely addition, as the weather was not great so could not utilise the gardens to their full potential. We were woken one morning by children, who were staying in the room next door, whose room was behind us in the stable block, knocking on a door, which I assumed linked all the rooms together and they were loud the evening before in their room too. I have grandchildren so understand but would maybe ensure we went to an adult only hotel next time. Room was lovely, bathroom could have done with more shelving and the bedroom could have done with an extra chair to allow both quests somewhere to put clothes etc. The breakfasts were a bit manic, with only 1 member of staff rushing around, on the first morning the eggs were not runny and the avocado was not ripe. The evening meals were exceptional. Having said that, the overall stay was very enjoyable.
Great value for money but missing attention to detail.
We had a great stay and it was certainly good value for money but it was just the attention to detail that was missing. The grounds could have been fantastic but they looked a little neglected. The lights on the bathroom mirror and the sink plug didn't work, and the taps were back to front!
Kitchen was right outside our bedroom so was a bit noisy at 7.00am, the biggest disappointment was the breakfast with bacon over cooked and dry and the bread tasted like it was from a cheap supermarket.
On a positive, the hotel is lovely and quirky, the pool is nice and the food the first two nights was excellent, think the chef must of been off on the 3rd night as the food was nowhere near as good.
I wouldn't say it was bad but a wouldn't rush back or tell people they must go,
Our stay at Widbrook Grange
The room was big enough for me, my wheelchair and wife. The bathroom also was of an adequate size. It contained a bath as well as a walk in shower so both my wife and I were well catered for, my wife using the bath and me, being disabled, the shower. The room was on the ground floor, very close to the dining room. The food both at dinner and breakfast was excellent. We used the Park and Ride. to go to Bath which we wound very good and Bath itself very interesting. The Park and Ride was situated a car ride away.

Relaxing weekend with a good food !!
We enjoyed our night at Widbrook Grange.. Room was clean, nice big bed, soft bedding..
Our dinner was amazing! It's a bit pricey but we had 30 each towards our meal which was lovely. Before our dinner we had a generous glass of Prosseco, which was part of our deal and it was a nice touch.
Breakfast was delicious.
We definitely recommend this place especially in summer so you could enjoy their lovely garden.

Enjoyable break
A friendly small hotel, with quirky decor and so welcoming for four legged friends. if you are after a smaller, non chain hotel, this is a very good choice. Food was excellent, with a good choice, and helpful staff, particularly at breakfast, to help you with suggestions for exploring the local area. Great canal walks within 10 minutes of the hotel. The hotel does have a swimming pool and small gym, which we only discovered after 2 days, and was close to our room. It would have been helpful to have been told where this was when we checked in. A complimentary drink on arrival was mentioned, but this was not offered, which would have been welcomed after a long drive. This is a lovely hotel both in the Summer and Winter with open fires.
