Highly Recommended
Fantastic buildings set in wonderful grounds, our room was luxurious with everything we needed, the food was excellent and we would have no hesitation in recommending this as a great place to stay.

Tranquil setting
Enjoyed our weekend at Widbrook Grange , staff very friendly and courteous, lovely ambiance, room was bright and very clean with tea and coffee facilities supplied as required. Gardens very very nice but needed a little tlc.
A great relaxing stay. Great staff and accomodation
Wonderful getaway
We enjoyed an amazing 1 night stay in June. This was a really special, and long-awaited getaway for us so we were holding our high expectations cautiously! We needn't have; our stay was the perfect combination of farmhouse chic, stunning food, delectable drinks and warm, attentive service.
Our welcome at reception was warm and genuine. Our room was spacious, clean, and stylishly decorated with an incredibly comfortable superking bed. The rainfall shower with separate roll top bath catered to our individual bathing preferences perfectly.
We were delighted to receive on the house G&Ts as part of the deal we chose- these were not the basic, cheap end drinks we expected but were wonderfully tailored to us based on our individual gin tastes. It would be very easy to get carried away at the Gin bar with hundreds of enticing bottles available to choose from (other drinks were available, and the wine list was enjoyably comprehensive!)
Dinner was beautiful, delicious and a perfect portion size. The menu was just what we craved and we enjoyed every moment of the meal. The service timings were spot on; we didn't feel rushed, nor did we feel as if the evening dragged between courses.
The garden was enjoyable on a hot, sunny day, and the small ponds and fountains were pleasant around the courtyard. There were evidently some un-developed areas of the outdoor space which we would enjoy seeing put to use in the future, but nothing that detracted from the rustic beauty of the setting. Outside there was a small amount of road noise, but we heard nothing from our room which felt tranquil and perfectly peaceful.
We would absolutely return to Widbrook in the future, but would need to stay longer next time!

Short but pleasant stay
We stayed for two nights at this pleasant hotel. The room was very spacious although we had no use for the bath in the room! Staff were helpful in opening windows as it was very hot in the room when we arrived. The fan was useful at night. Food in the restaurant was good but there was a long wait between courses at times. The hotel was very clean and we felt confident in their COVID precautions.
lovely hotel for a break
The hotel was well placed for what we planned to do. It was a pleasant location and we liked the fact that the rooms were in the grounds. We enjoyed the food and wine very much, it was very tasty and the service was excellent. The only problem was the coffee. At breakfast we noted that flat white coffee was available for an extra payment of 2.50. We prefer flat whites so opted for that on our first morning. It really was very poor indeed - a very weak cup of coffee with no flavour at all. Don't be tempted to pay extra for it as it is not worth it. The television was a good size but the picture kept breaking up - surely something could be done to improve this. Apart from those two disappointments it was a lovely couple of days spent there.
