Cosy and relaxing break

KT, Worcestershire, stayed: December 2024

We stayed for a night in the hotel and had a day in the spa too. It has a lovely cosy and welcoming atmosphere as you enter the hotel. We was given our room key by a nice receptionist and was very impressed with the room and distance from the restaurant and reception. We had a lovely man show us to our room and carry my friends bags. The waiter who bought us our wine poured it for us and was very polite. The dinner was really nice and the waitresses were very friendly. The nights sleep was comfortable and satisfactory. The breakfast had lots of choice and was an enjoyable experience.
The spa needs some tlc- worn out loungers and rusty handrails. Robes were very thin and soak up water easily leaving them cold and uncomfortable. Outside spa pool was cold. The changing rooms are very slippery and I slid on the tiles as they have no grip in the main area. The rest of the spa is lovely and the staff were very helpful and friendly. I would return.

Beautiful hotel is a gorgeous location. Very impressive building with a lot of original features

Lyn D, Staffordshire, stayed: December 2024

We had a one night stay and thoroughly enjoyed it. The room was lovely, spacious, clean, welcoming. The only one thing was there was only a door connecting the next door room so we heard the next door visitors early morning the next day. The restaurant we couldn t fault. Food was very good. Staff very friendly and welcoming. The spa was very relaxing just needs updating loungers as most were broken. The outdoor pool was lovely too. Breakfast had lots of choice and was also delicious. Would definitely like to stay again if we are in the area.

Pre Christmas gathering

BMN Cambridgeshire, stayed: December 2024

A beautiful hotel. Grade 2 listed building. Amazing wood panelling. A hotel with over 50 chimneys Food was excellent. Staff helpful and friendly. Easy walk (approx 20 mins) to Stratford along the river the other side of the main road. We are six ladies of certain ages from various area of the UK and we meet up every 3 months to try different hotels for an overnight and a good chat mainly around the Midlands. This will be in our top 3 hotels. We shall be back .

Relaxing break

Janet L, Buckinghamshire, stayed: December 2024

I stayed with my sister for a two night stay, the meal on our first night was delicious, close enough to go into Stratford on Avon on the second night for a meal and sample the nightlife. The spa was really quiet when we were there, good sized pool, jacuzzi, sauna and the outdoor hydro pool was amazing

Welcome Hotel Spa

Anon, stayed: December 2024

The directions to the hotel were clear and there was ample parking except one night, understandably, when a conference was being held. We enjoyed walking the hill behind the hotel. The surrounding area is lovely. Being winter the front garden was not at its best and the proximity of the golf course limited walking in that direction. The hotel room was small and the heating was off so sitting there required warm clothes. The window in the bathroom and bedroom allowed a flow of cold air to enter because of the old iron frames. Surely a handyman could inexpensively fit draught excluders. On the other hand the bathroom and bedroom had no extractor fans for ventilation. Not enough drawers in which to put smaller items of clothing so more than a few days stay becomes challenging. No luggage rack, suitcases on the floor. The bed was firm so lighter bodies like ours suffered somewhat and the sheet was applied directly to the mattress so that the stitching on the mattress was palpable. Probably ok for heavier persons. TV needs upgrading to a smart TV. Clunky remote. The restaurant menu was boring and the food average. Sitting near any of the lounge or dining room areas is a cold experience because of the draughty windows. (Again, simple draught excluders?) My wife had to have two linen serviettes on her knees to try and stay warm. The breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did not make use of the spa. Our stay was generally quiet and peaceful. Conveniently located near Stratford with easy access.

Nice Hotel and grounds

Rosemary, Devon, stayed: November 2024

Interesting old building and lovely grounds / golf course. Room was comfortable but bathroom was small and dated.
The spa and pool were nice but the guy on reception was brusque to the point of rudeness.
The staff in the hotel were helpful but the service at dinner was so slow it spoilt the whole evening unfortunately.
