Made very Welcombe!

David H, Dorset, stayed: June 2024

The most beautiful building with lovely rooms - high ceilings, gorgeous features and very spacious.
Evening meal food was excellent, as was the white wine, amazing choices at breakfast too .
Jacuzzi and swimming pool an added bonus.
Tranquil spot in the middle of nowhere.
Can t wait to go back!

RELAXING BREAK

Brian, Leicestershire, stayed: July 2024

Had i known it was a Best Western Hotel i would not have booked it.
The building and grounds are magnificent but as mentioned, being a Best Western, it attracted a lower class of customer.
It took 20 minutes to check in.
The restaurant staff were attentative, friendly and efficient. The food choice and quality was excellent.

Lovely setting and location

Kim H, West Midlands, stayed: July 2024

The deal was good but unfortunately on arrival, we were told the spa facilities would not be available until the following day. This was very disappointing as we had received no information about this. We had booked this deal for a special birthday celebration so it was spoilt. The hotel room was clean and the food in the restaurant was good. Prices for drinks in the bar was high. Lovely grounds and setting.

The Welcombe Hotel Spa and Golf Club, Stratford on Avon.

Paul, Herefordshire, stayed: July 2024

We arrived at this very imposing hotel via a long drive between large trees. We entered the hotel and waited at reception. We had to wait rather a long time at reception. An extra member of staff on reception would have been helpful.
Our room was very light and airy. The bathroom was a good size with very efficient down lights.
Plenty of nice toiletries were supplied for our use.
There was supposed to be a bottle of chilled wine in our room on arrival but alas there was none!
We called reception and they told us we would have to come down and fetch the bottle ourselves!!
When I did go to the bar for the wine they didn't know which type I was supposed to have.More time wasted sorting this out.
We had a two course meal as part our deal and that was adequate. The dining room was very nice with plenty of space.
The buffet breakfast was very good with plenty of choice. The coffee was especially nice.
We had use of the spa and this was okay apart from some of the jacuzzis were not operating.
Overall we had a lovely time but the management need to put on extra staff.
The staff were friendly enough but were put under pressure.
I would not stay here again only because we have visited this area and would like to go elsewhere.

Good value, spa break

AW, West Yorkshire, stayed: July 2024

This was a lovely spa hotel in a beautiful setting.
The room was acceptable for a 1 night break but it had no view (looked out over the air con units and bins. The room was very warm even when the air con was on. The room window did not open. The decor was dated and cluttered with too many chairs.
Despite our disappointment of the bedroom the package was excellent value for money and the spa use was good despite the footbaths & inside jacuzzi being out of action.
The close proximity to Stratford made it an excellent location with a short walk along the river path into the town. Ample free parking was an added bonus.

Weekend break

YM, Hertfordshire, stayed: July 2024

Overall would like to say our stay was lovely
Was our first weekend away with my boyfriend.
The grounds are beautiful ,our room was big and spacious
Excellent location to Stratford upon Avon centre
Staff were very nice and friendly
We arrived early and was able to use spa but the spa is tired and many things not working or broken
Pool was cold jacuzzi should have been warmer and the indoor jacuzzi was not working neither was foot spas . The tiled beds should have been heated
And I cut my finger trying to open the hot shower out side the sauna area as tiles bare broken around the tap .
Also you would think they would give you a robe as part of the hotel deal as we had to get dressed to go back to our rooms
Our deal was very good and they allowed us to change the bottle of presseco to bottle of wine
We also got to use the spa on day we checked out which was nice
Would definitely recommend and hopefully there will be improvements to spa facilities for next guess

Two day break

Anon, stayed: July 2024

The hotel is situated in a lovely position with the terrace overlooking the beautiful garden & grounds. The location is within easy walking distance to the town.
The younger staff were extremely helpful & friendly. We were slightly disappointed that the staff in the restaurant on the first night were not aware of the offer we had taken up & had to show our booking confirmation with the details on as confirmation. Once confirmed, we enjoyed a very nice meal. The breakfasts were excellent both mornings.
The spa is fabulous - modern & spotless
The rooms, although clean are extremely dated. The decoration, including carpets, blinds & windows are very tired & worn.
Would definitely stay again, once the hotel has been completely refurbished & updated!

Great location

GB, stayed: August 2024

The hotel is in a good countryside location, with lots of walks including into Stratford directly from the car park. The spa had a few items out of order which was a shame. The restaurant menu had some good choices on both nights. The golf course is good, and nearby, and some holes come nearly to the hotel.
