Very slow check in due to only one member of staff on reception.
Service in restaurant very very slow, long waits for any service between courses at dinner and food not great.
Breakfast was a disaster having a long time to wait to place a breakfast order and again a long wait ensued, we enquired twice about our order with a staff response that they would check, but still over 45 minutes before it appeared. When the food did arrive it was cold, dry and inedible. By this time we had had enough and left.
The restaurant was not busy at any time we were there so difficult to comprehend the staff and kitchen delays.
We quietly voiced our disappointment at reception, The receptionist said she would look into the problem and they would get back to us, but they never did.

We enjoyed our stay very much.
A fine hotel with very friendly staff.
The restaurant served good food and the wine list was affordable, although the room could benefit from better lighting.
Disappointed
Some rooms don't have opening windows and air conditioning is poor so not nice in hot weather. Afternoon tea is a scone and a coffee- disappointing. Evening meal allowance not good enough to order a 2 course meal. 10% service charge added to meal bill so not covered by evening allowance

Being such an old building, some of the windows are unable to open and air conditioning is not as efficient as in a more modern property; we are sorry that this lead to an uncomfortable stay for you.
Your offer included a complimentary cream tea for two during your stay, which consists of scones with jam and cream and tea or coffee - an afternoon tea also includes sandwiches and cakes.
With the introduction of the hotel's new menu we have increased the dining allowance; thank you for bringing this to our attention. The service charge is optional and can always be removed should you so choose.
We do hope that the majority of your stay was to your satisfaction.

Couldn't fault it
Got an amazing deal and enjoyed a super room in the main house, a cream tea and a particularly top quality restaurant experience.
RELAXING BREAK
A NICE LOCATION JUST OFF THE ROAD, A VERY WELCOME RECEPTION, LOVELY ROOM OVERLOOKING THE GARDEN, FOOD GOOD NOT TOO MUCH OF IT, DRINKS A BIT PRICY, NO MORE THAN YOU EXPECT IN A GOOD HOTEL WOULD STAY THERE AGAIN. JOHN T.

Relaxing atmosphere, lovely grounds with equally lovely views and peaceful.Dinner VERY disappointing
Shame about the evening restaurant meal. Left a lot to improve.
