We felt thoroughly 'spoilt' and well looked after from the first step into Reception , to leaving after our 48 hour stay. The little break was a gift from our son and what an excellent gift it was. We do appreciate peace and quiet and there are few corners left in this little island of ours where we can find just that . We do so hope the close proximity of the new "retirement village" won't spoil the tranquility and privacy of The Wood Norton . When we were in our comfortable room , we said more than once... "I wonder if everyone has gone home !!". The walls are so thick you simply couldn't hear any 'outside' noise .
We hope, one day , we shall be able to return. It's a very Special place to stay. Thank you to all the Staff that make it that way.

Country peace and solitude

Peter U, Bedfordshire, stayed: October 2018

This historic mansion is located in a fairly remote part of the Cotswolds, car ownership is a must to visit Evesham a long walk away or Stratford on Avon 15 plus miles away. But having said that, what is so attractive about this hotel is the excellent and helpful staff ,the gardens, the food which was 5 star plus, the peace of the location, which will attract members of the senior citizens brigade.
My stay was so very enjoyable, and I would say if you want to get away from all the doom and gloom of the world this is the Hotel for you.Peter Underhay.

Wood Norton was great except for the shower. This stood in a bath and was purely an overhead shower head, which was awkward to adjust and operate. It is not something we are used to and would prefer a proper shower.cubicle with an adjustable shower head

needs some TLC

Anon, stayed: September 2018

The entrance was substantially impacted by a new development of retirement flats which were not in keeping with the ambience. The building facade and interior were typical of this era of large country houses, but the interior woodwork and floors was in serious need of TLC, though would be very impressive if renovated. The front desk and bar were essentially ruined with an aluminium covering, quite out of place for the period hotel. The staff, while friendly, were not trained to the standard of a good 4* hotel, notably chains or international standards and the dinner menu was certainly not gourmet, or particularly impressive. Breakfast was reasonable, but juice was packet long-life or concentrate juice, while it could have been at least NOT from concentrate! The outside grounds were very nice for a stroll around. Overall needs improvement in many areas and the bedroom lighting was rather dark and old fashioned. However, has potential!

Wood Norton September 2018

A pleasant hotel , with helpful staff. We had a large Queen room with an enormous bathroom which had been very smart but is now getting a little shabby. The bar was comfortable , with good service , but we were double charged for drinks and coffee , which was corrected at check out after a little persistence on our part. We were extremely disappointed by the Bistro menu - it is rare to be presented with such an uninspiring short list of choices and to feel that nothing is appealing. Our break was funded by a Gift Voucher , given as part of a retirement present. We would not have been happy to pay the price of the break had we been paying ourselves and feel the voucher was not well spent.

Lovely break

David, Buckinghamshire, stayed: September 2018

Really enjoyed our one night only slight complaint was that we had to ask for the elements of our package. However can't wait till we can fit in another stay.
