Relaxing surroundings in a lovely part of the Cotswolds. Only downside was quite a small breakfast area but very good food so worth the wait for a table. Big bedroom with 2 armchairs (quite unusual!). Good to have a bath and a shower.

Food was great - loved the honey!
Room was ok - beds comfy, all facilities great - only down side was the noisy generator all night and room smelt damp and mould in window.

Friendly atmosphere enjoyed dinner but breakfast was excellent. Room was comfortable and the location of the hotel was very good .enjoyed our stay very much

Excellent hotel with a very interesting history

Two night stay

The hotel was very impressive and our room in the Pear Tree annex was fine but lacked enough lighting. We had to put on the bathroom light and leave the door open to see inside the wardrobe. On the subject of lighting, we felt the lighting in the restaurant was poor. You could hardly see what you were eating. The service in the restaurant on our first night was appalling. We booked a table for 7pm but had to wait to give our order which finally arrived at 7.45. we had to ask for the dessert menu and when nobody asked us for our order, we walked out at 8.30. The second night was a complete contrast and we had our overall meal in 1 1/4 hours. We congratulated the staff on the second night. nevertheless we enjoyed our stay and were able to visit two National Trust premises in the area.

For a corporate and wedding venue this hotel was also excellent for casual travellers. The rooms were spacious and overall very quiet even with some rowdy course members.  The staff were all very efficient and check out and in very easy.  The best feature was the quality of the food both at breakfast and in the evening . If staffing levels were somewhat stressed this was compensated for by the meals themselves and above expectation.
All in all good value.
