Enjoyable break

KB, Nottinghamshire, stayed: March 2019

We enjoyed our stay at the hotel, enjoyed the package of breakfast and evening meal with a free glass of prosecco. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
Dinner in the resturant was of a high standard, although we had a long wait for our meal, we did enquire why there was a delay, not given a full explanation we can only guess the order hadn't been sent to the kitchen as it arrived quite quickly after our enquiry. My point was that no one noticed we were sat with no food for nearly 50 mins.
Breakfast was good, well cooked but stingy scrambled egg portions.
Our room was near the main entrance and we had smokers stood under the window.

Great stay

MR, Hampshire, stayed: February 2019

A very welcoming hotel with excellent rooms and very good food.
Some temporary parking problems due to onsite building works but staff were very accommodating.

Lovely hotel on a busy road. Car park a little difficult to get to with cases (need to use drop off point). The building and settings are beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful, the food was delicious. Two nights at the hotel was an experience which ended by wanting to stay longer.

Relaxing getaway

Martin, Essex, stayed: February 2019

Spacious room in main house. Pleasant decor throughout house.
Lovely view from elevated terrace lawn.
Access on foot from main carpark a bit tricky - no ramps for cases.
Currently there are building works in adjacent land but this did not disturb us at all.
Breakfast very good, wide range of quality options. We weren't hurried along.
Cream tea pleasant with good warm scones jam and clotted cream.
Evening meal, though not a very wide range was good quality nicely presented with attentive service.

This hotel has a lot of character and very interesting history. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Shower most powerful I have EVER experienced. Restaurant very good and breakfast in the morning was impressive.
