>my two day stay.

room had no toilet brush and the toilet needed scrubbing.Dinner in the restaurant was not up to much .The stainless steel bar looked out of place. It looked like a 1960 coffee bar, and overpriced.

Poor restaurant

Stephen H, Nottinghamshire, stayed: March 2019

The restaurant food and service let this fine hotel down. Overcooked and undercooked food returned to kitchen. Orders for food taken wrongly. Poor catering management.

Included in the price was an afternoon tea which comprised two scones each and a pot of tea, disappointing.

We say...

Dear DT,

Thank you for your review following your stay at The Wood Norton, although I'm sorry you were disappointed by your included cream tea.

As described, a cream tea is scones with jam and cream and tea or coffee, while an afternoon tea typically also includes sandwiches and cakes - this would have been available at an extra cost if requested at the hotel.

We hope the rest of your stay was enjoyable.

With warm regards,

Offpeakluxury

Edge of Cotswolds

Anon, stayed: March 2019

Hotel was in a great spot for exploring the Cotswolds. Despite building work going on outside, we could see the potential for a longer stay. The room, almost a suite, in the Manor House was stylish and comfortable. The restaurant was discreet and the breakfast was delicious. Servings of fruit and yogurts in kilner jars a great way to keep things fresh, inspired. Will definitely stay again.

The restaurant food let the hotel down. Value for money was poor and the menu choice limited.

Room and location met expectations.
Restaurant disappointing.Average breakfast. Dinner ....Only 3 of 4 starters available both nights and no substitute. Portions small and 3 of our 4 main courses had missing components . Very expensive for what you got and side dishes might be needed at cost. Not a Gourmet experience .
The older parts of the building where exceptional, but the bar was totally out of character ,cold and unwelcoming decor.
Reception area minute and far from impressive .
The staff in general were very good,
Lovely hotel,disappointing dining.
