Excellent hotel - shame about the service
The hotel was absolutely beautiful and the food in the restaurant was delicious. However, the service in the hotel (apart from the service at the bar) was terrible - especially in the restaurant. In the restaurant we were sat at our table for 30 minutes before our drinks order was taken and then didn't receive them for another 30 minutes and then our food order was taken. As well as this, the front of house staff seemed to ignore you when waiting at the front desk.
Our favourite place to stay
We had another very enjoyable stay at The Wood Norton. The friendly staff combined with the panelled walls of the hall/manor house give a very calming atmosphere. It is the bench-mark to compare any other hotel by. We are hoping to go there again very soon (perhaps take the family). The manor house is quite luxurious.
Great hotel, lovely staff.
My partner and I (a couple in our late 20s/early 30s) stayed here for two nights just before Easter and had a brilliant time. The staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly, the room was very comfortable and had a lovely view and the food was excellent both nights. We'd definitely come back.

Cotswold short stay.
Excellent service together with large comfortable bedrooms made the stay very welcoming. Restaurant catered very well for our dietary requirements, contacting us prior to the meals and making sure the food was free from the allergies which concerned us. Quality and presentation of food, achieving a very high standard. Also, staff were very customer focused making the ambience of the hotel relaxed and welcoming. Would return.
Wood Norton
The hotel is a really lovely place to stay - very nice rooms which were very clean and well serviced. The hotel is beautiful - full of character and atmosphere. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Our only criticism was our experience in the restaurant. On the first night the service was extremely slow. We had booked our table for 7.30 and placed our order in the bar. We were taken through at 8.00 but our starters weren't served until 8.45. We didn't complete our meal until 10.00. Although the restaurant manager was aware that the service had been unacceptable there was no apology. We were disappointed to find that the table d'hote was exactly the same the next evening with very limited choices. Sadly the restaurant service was once again disappointing - we sat in the bar and no-one came to attend to us so we took ourselves in to the restaurant in order to be served. Such a shame because this could be the perfect hotel.
Wow
Delighted to get an upgrade so had room in the main building...... bathroom to die for and the room wasn't too shabby either.
Drinks in front of an open fire before dinner then a really nice meal. Ask for a window table if the weather is good as the views are great. Food superb so can't wait to go again.
Good place!
A good place to stay - now added to our 'places to stay' list
