Lovely hotel, wish we could have been able to open the window in the room as a bit claustrophobic, ok when air con kicked in. Long wait for service in restaurant on second night. I had checked before booking no weddings were taking place as customer reviews has said service was poor. We were 2 hours in the restaurant on second night apparently something going on in the boardroom. Manager acknowledged our wait and gave us free drinks but I did not expect such a delay as no weddings taking place. Felt a bit let down by service for such a nice hotel. We were going to book for New Year gala dinner but not sure now?

Eventually satisfied customers

Jane B, stayed: August 2016

We originally chose the Wood Norton Hotel for its location and reputation: as regards the former, it could not have been better and in the end, it's reputation was upheld. The problems for us were initially twofold. We were there for four days during which there were four weddings so there were times when we, who were there to celebrate our own Silver Wedding, felt like second class customers. However, on the one occasion when we felt moved to complain, it was taken seriously and small slips in service were corrected. More seriously, we were dismayed to find that the dinner menu, while of high quality, was limited to three main courses, two of which I could not eat for dietary reasons. Therefore to find that the exact same menu was offered three nights running, was disappointing to say the least. But here I have to give the hotel, and in particular the excellent young chef, Kieran Hunt, the highest praise because on hearing our complaint, he met with us each day to ask what we would like to eat for all three courses and then prepared it for us. Few hotels would have done this. So we came away as very happy clients.

Lovely little hotel

KC, Hampshire, stayed: August 2016

Stayed at the Wood Norton for one night to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary, the hotel was smaller than we had imagined, but cosy and comfortable with lovely bar areas and a super restaurant. We stayed in one of the rooms in the main house and it was beautiful with a lovely view over the garden. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient.

Terrace

HM, oxon, stayed: July 2016

We were here for our silver anniversary and the weather was lovely. However sitting get on the terrace was spoilt by a training course also on the terrace. Otherwise always enjoy coming to the WN

Lovely place for a treat but disappointing breakfast

MH, Cheshire, stayed: July 2016

Beautifully refurbished hotel both inside and out chosen for its location and extra quality. We were generally very pleased with everything in our two night stay apart from the cooked breakfast. Fruit, cereal and breakfast add ons were excellent, but cooked breakfast would have been so much better if it was cooked to order rather than taken from warming oven.
Brasserie meal was very good and gourmet meal in restaurant was interesting and innovative.

Amazingly relaxing and tranquil

Jamie E, stayed: May 2016

Spent 2 nights here for a mini-moon (very brief, wonderful). After many months of frantic wedding preparation and a hectic but amazing day itself, we were desperate to escape to somewhere tranquil, with wonderful views, great food, a hotel (and rooms) full of character, and a place we could switch off, relax and just smell the country air! We were not disappointed.
