Lovely break!
This was the first time I had booked through OPL and I was not disappointed. From arrival the staff were helpful, friendly and efficient and we were upgraded to a suite which was a real treat. Our afternoon tea was freshly prepared on our arrival while we enjoyed a complimentary drink in one of the lounges. We were extremely lucky with the weather and were able to sit and enjoy the beautifully maintained gardens and chat to those responsible for looking after them. More information available in the hotel would have been useful informing people of local place of interest to visit.

Spent a Sunday night at the Wood Norton.
Enjoyed every moment. Good food and lovely staff. Enjoyed drinks on the terrace when we arrived. Magnificent views. Great value.
Fawlty Towersesque dining
I booked a two night stay at the wood Norton as a romantic getaway in which I would propose to my girlfriend. We arrived, I proposed, she said yes. Happy days. Then we went to dinner. We were in the brasserie because the main restaurant was fully booked both nights (would have been nice to have a table reserved with our room). We sat down and we were obviously buzzing - however it took about 20 minutes for someone to take our drinks order (Champagne of course). This delay was the only issue that first night but it was a sign of things to come. On the second night I had the worst dining experience of my life. We sat down at our booked time (9pm) and it was 35 minutes before anyone came to give us menus. I had to go up and speak to someone on numerous occasions as we were simply being ignored. There were lots of staff on but no one seemed to know what they were doing. No one was in charge. I could see that lots of the tables around me were experiencing the same issues. Twice the waiter tried to give us someone else's food - before we had even ordered - and then my Fiance's steak was not cooked properly. She'd asked for rare and this was clearly medium or well done. We complained to the staff (after hunting one down) and it turned out they had given us the wrong steaks. The food in general was very good. The service (especially on that second evening) made Basil Fawlty look competent.

Comfortable hotel, the grounds were very pleasant, staff friendly and accomodating. The room we stayed in was a good size and had a very spacious bathroom with Molton Brown toiletries. There was some noise from a wedding party but this was not intrusive. Restaurant meal was excellent and service good.
