I would not like to be to unfair because of the restrictions caused by covid, but there seemed to be no atmosphere about the place, The menu was very restricted, some of the food was good some was bad. I had fish and chips the Friday we arrived the fish was horrible it was so thin you could see through it, all l could taste was the batter and the chips were those horrible thin frozen fries.
My wife had salmon one night which she really enjoyed, starters and sweets were good.
Sorry but won't be returning.
In the face of adversity
Our stay was during the first week of opening after three months lockdown. The restaurant was not fully functional and there was a limited menu which was understandable considering the constraints on the management (I am confident that the score would be higher under normal circumstances.) The hotel staff moved mountains to ensure our stay was enjoyable even though there were still Covid-19 restrictions in place. Well done everyone and we ll see you again!
Great Staycation
All staff amazing work as an excellent team they go above and beyond
Food was fabulous, amazing breakfast, the best ever cream tea and excellent evening meals every meal we had we really enjoyed, cooked to perfection.
Dog friendly everyone loved Betty Boo.
Felt safe everything has been put in place re COVID 19
The Manager does an excellent job, great team work, and great to see a Manager supporting, and thankful to his staff.
Staycation
Booked this as a last minute break after finally accepting we weren't going to be going abroad. We normally go self catering so it was a nice change to be waited on. Great location for visiting the surrounding area in all directions. Great location for people watching. Helpful friendly staff and good food well cooked. What more could you ask for. Nearly forgot to mention the Jacuzzi bath.
Disappointing
The hotel is very tired, we booked the champagne package and there was no
Champagne, they did bring it when requested. There was no tea or coffee in the room
again once asked they sorted it out. We ate outside and unfortunately it was the smoking shelter which we were not told about at the time and as non smokers it spoiled our food, if we were warned about smokers we would have chosen to eat inside. There was also a man smoking a spliff next to us he was asked to move on which he eventually did, after considerable swearing not the hotels fault but it was off putting, they also gave us the dessert menu but forgot to come and take our order, after a while we gave up and didn t bother. Breakfast was fine, we were not offered the afternoon tea but were not bothered as we really didn t want to stay any longer so found somewhere else.
A break
Brilliant place to eat and stay

Very difficult to review any business working so hard in such challenging circumstances. Only thing please keep champagne and wine chilled.but it we found it not to be the correct thing to mention at the time.Thankyou to all the businesses and people for their hardwork
