Excellent stay
Excellent stay, room was beautiful, staff very friendly and helpful. Food was excellent. A wonderful stay, hotel was very central for touring around.
A birthday treat at the Snooty Fox
We arrived at mid-day when the room wasn't ready so spent a few nice hours in Tetbury. When we came back the room was ready. The room was quite tidy although a little small. As part of our deal we had a bottle of Champagne and a box of chocolates for my wife's birthday. The Champagne was good but the chocolates weren't value for money. We then went for our afternoon cream tea but found that they had run out of clotted cream and had to accept vanilla cream which totally spoiled it.
We had 2 evening meals as part of our package, both of which were totally over priced for what was served.
Very satisfied couple
We had a very pleasant & comfortable stay.
The only minor drawbacks were (i) lack of a hotel car park meant trying to beat the locals to the very few free parking spaces or using pay-and-display car parks and (ii) the positioning of the Reception Desk at the bottom of the stairs occasionally made access to the stairs awkward especially when visitors with luggage were either booking in or out.
We were greeted with a very friendly warmth and immediately felt comfortable.
A problem with noise from the room below was soon dealt with when we told the Management. Overall the stay was excellent.

Really enjoyable stay the room we stayed in was luxurious on two levels. The bar was warm and friendly, the locals were welcoming, food was very good- will go back again
Good all round experience
Stayed here as a couple with 3 other friends. We all enjoyed the time we spent with you. The friendliness and helpfulness of all staff was a pleasure. The food was good as were the choices of real ales. We've already told other friends about how nice a stay we had, and hope to come again some time.
Shouldn't have been sold as luxury
We booked this hotel as a LUXURY ROMANTIC wedding anniversary escape. The lady on reception was extremely nice and booked us in. Our room would have been luxury about 20 years ago, but certainly needs updating to stand up to its name as so called superior. The bathroom was full of cracks, making it look very shabby indeed, and the whirlpool bath was so old and shabby looking, we didn't even bother to attempt to try it. I managed to put a hole in my 20 silk stockings as there was a screw poking up through the gripper track into the bathroom. As for a romantic break? There was quite a large gap under the door, letting all the light from the hallway glare in (& noise!) dinner was very slow coming, probably due to the Christmas parties being held on the same night (totally forgive that) but it took me 45 minutes to get breakfast the next morning & 30 minutes to get a cup of tea even. There seemed to be 2 members of staff for the whole hotel Saturday morning!
Lovely location
Romantic 4 poster room; cosy relaxing hotel. food was only average though.
