Not as good as expected
Our room was not as nice and the pictures indicated and is more a 3* than a 4* hotel. Our room decor was a bit tired and needed to be upgraded. Evening meal was good, however, breakfast was a real letdown and well below the standard expected. Staff were helpful and welcoming.

Some good, some bad, some funny.
On arrival it became clear that only one of three 'extras' purchased on line were on the system. Finding the room was a bit of a problem - signage was odd. Maisie [amazing receptionist] had to walk us to our room in the end!
The service in the restaurant was really slow due to staff shortages and a couple of the staff showed their inexperience.
Being woken up at 03:00 by a faulty fire alarm was not much fun especially as we had to go looking for the staff to find out if the alarm was for real or false.
The alarm went off on the following evening too and at least this time, after being prompted, the duty manager visited rooms to explain that there was a fault in the system and apologise.
The fire alarm went of a third time on the morning we left and staff came through the breakfast room assuring us all was under control - quite funny in the end.
In the room - the toilet roll holder was barely hanging on at a jaunty angle. The room was not particularly clean but comfortable and spacious.
Positives - breakfast was good, the hotel is on a bus stop and 20 mins from the middle of Stratford.
Good location, poor restaurant experience
Evening meal food wise was delicious but we ordered a bottle of wine which was plonked on the table, unopened with no offer of tasting or any serving etiquette.
Breakfast was served until 10am apparently but at 9.40, there was little left and no topping up.
We had a drink in the bar mid afternoon on the Saturday; no bar snacks at all available and limited drinks range.
Room was lovely. Absolutely no pressure in the shower
Cancelled
Didn t stay there in the end came home after cancelling because the electricity failed in the kitchen and there was no food for the evening meals and only a cold buffet breakfasts. So we came home after being offered a full refund. They dealt with the unfortunate situation professionally
Great location
The hotel is more of a motel. A little dated and in need of some tlc but clean enough and in a lovely part of the world. Having Charlecote Park right opposite means it s a great place to visit.
The staff were great, the bar is ok but drinks are super expensive.
The evening menu is very limited and not very inspiring, having said that it was actually nice enough, breakfast was good.
Our deal included complimentary drinks which were a bit of a joke. Half a pint or a tiny glass of wine.
I feel bad criticising the place as we actually enjoyed our stay but advertising it as a luxury country break in a traditional country hotel is bound to set expectations too high and disappointment people.

We had no hot water to our bathroom during our stay. Reported on day two to reception, no improvement by that evening. On our last morning we spoke to a member of staff near our room, possibly house keeping, the water was hot when we returned from breakfast. Too late for our stay!
Otherwise ok.
Fab Location
Staff were lovely, room clean & quite but usb sockets would be useful
Stayed in room 54 but the entrance & hallways stank of smoke! Smokers gather in the entrance! The carpets in the communal areas in this building really need replacing to be honest.
The overall aspect looks unloved as overgrown so gardener needed as really lets it s down as could look amazing. Needs more tlc overall outside as kerb appeal is not good at all. When you drive past it actually looked closed
We had a nice few days though & the staff make it but suggest management take a good look at outside.
