lovely room - but

EW, hampshire, stayed: October 2022

Requested an access friendly room - BUT the lovely 4 poster bed was not easy access unfortunately being about 3ft 6in up so you had to slide down from the bed, then leap up to get back in - so sadly for us not ideal, it was lovely room otherwise with lots of space. We moved to another very adequate room -no frills like the first roome,no free shampoo but we could get into bed!!

Great location

Good value for money. Great food, but hotel looking tired and a bit shabby. Room could have been cleaner. Huge cobweb hanging from ceiling, shower head holder coming away from wall and hole in ceiling above shower. However the location was perfect and so convenient for Stratford that we would probably stay here again.

Mediocre

GH, Caerphilly, stayed: May 2022

The room was fine - clean, quiet and comfortable. Breakfast was a buffet with everything you could ask for. Reception was a bit hit and miss - eg they didn't let us know that breakfast times were different depending on the day of the week!. The disappointment was dinner - very mediocre. We had booked 9pm, which was fine, except when we ordered pudding we waited ages and then when we enquired we were informed that the kitchen had shut. Why not ask us what we would like for pudding when we ordered the rest of the meal, so the kitchen could have got it ready before they closed up.
We would stay again for b&b but not for dinner.

Two Nights in Stratfod

Michael, Hants, stayed: August 2021

Having upgraded at the time of booking to a Superior room we were wondering how poor the Standard rooms must be. The room was small and the whole lot was in need of serious decorating and up-dating. The reception area was also lacking some fresh paint. and parts of the exterior of the whole hotel were looking delapidated.
Decorative lights in four poster bed did not work, furniture would best be given to a charity shop and it's just as well we didn't take a cat as we couldn't have swung it round in the tiny bathroom. Minute television sitting on the suitcase stand with cables hanging down the wall, really!! Brackets are freely available at all good hardware stores,
Still trying to think of something that was 'Superior' about this room. You've had over a year of lockdown to decorate as have many of the hotels that we have stayed at recently have done. Very poor.
.However, the saving grace of our stay were the restaurant and bar staff who were excellent and the food in the restaurant was truly first class.

Great stay for one night

Anon, stayed: June 2021

Had a great time, room very spacious but not luxurious.
Mattress looked like someone has died in it and standard of cleanliness could do with improving
Dust on all window ledges, especially in the bathroom, not covid cleaned !,
Not a lot to choose from on the menu, pudding selection very poor.
Hotel a bit tired

Not as clean as it should be

JL, Staffordshire, stayed: June 2021

Receptionist was very clean, very greasy hair and not helpful. in restaurant not much choose on menu and food not very large. not enough sauce on prawn cocktail and main meal could have fitted on saucer. we sat in window seat which was dirty and lots of dead files etc on lampshade and window. We asked for a garden view and got view to main road which was noisy.
