Very disappointing
On arrival our room was (Room 2) boiling hot and eventually was found to have faulty radiators. We were promptly moved to room 107. This was in another building a few minutes walk from reception. Although the room was nice, the wardrobe door hinge was broken, one of the plug sockets was only held on with one screw, so came away when my companion s phone was plugged in. The coffee machine didn t work, nor did the fan in the bathroom. At night the lamps in the garden marking the path to the room were not on and it was pitch black. The high speed Wi-Fi was extremely slow, registering a speed of 2. The tv sound kept going out of sync, presumably due to the poor signal.
I had emailed to check the booking was ok as it was my companions 80th birthday and asked if they could pop a candle in a small cake when we had our dinner in their restaurant. I had no reply and on the evening of his birthday they didn t bring anything. We had invited friends to join us and the food was very basic. The next night we dined in the next village at the Kings Head and the food and service was excellent, plus they popped a birthday candle in his pudding without any special request, but simply because I had mentioned we were away as a celebration.
The electrical point in the room and lack of lighting I think are a health and safety issue. Although the staff were helpful the rest of the issues plus the fact the room key kept packing up made our two days frustrating and stressful at a time when I was trying to give my friend a nice break for his birthday.
Last Minute Break at Charlecote Pheasant Hotel
Short stay
We chose this hotel because it was dog friendly, the room was very basic and a bit tired. We didn t expect luxury because we had a dog. The room however was very cold. The radiator was going on and off but seemed under powered for the room. We were told we could get a dog bed and bowl from reception. The lady eventually found us a dog bed but gave us a dirty dog bowl. Overall the staff were very friendly and welcoming in the communal areas. The restaurant and bar menu was a bit limited for us. The location next to the Deer park was great for us.
Our feedback of our stay at the Charlecote Pheasant Hotel
>> We found the room clean but dated.
>> The breakfast was ok we have had better breakfast in hotels we have stayed in when booking through yourselves.
>> the evening meal was good
>> Great location for Stratford Upon Avon and Charlecote house.
>> yes we would stay in this hotel again, if it is a package deal, but would not pay the full price to stay there.
Lovely hotel fantastic setting
We found the hotel staff helpful and pleasant.
The room was clean, quiet and warm.
The meal we had in the restaurant w
as delicious and the service was good.
Very disappointing
Very tired room. Was definitely not an executive room. Lampshades hanging off. Shower and bathroom very poor. No complimentary drinks on arrival as was in the offer. Food in the restaurant was average but very short staffed.
Breakfast wasn't very hot and again very short staffed. One person running around doing everything. Coffee machine not working or needed filling up, no sugar. No coffee refill in the rooms. Very disappointing.
Coldest bedroom ever for a supposed luxury hotel. Public rooms the same. Below average place to stay
Despite a request to Reception and a further complaint to the waitress our bedroom remained icy cold during our stay. To access public rooms we had to walk across an exposed car park in the cold and rain. The bar was cold, guests were sitting around in coats! There were service and food problems at breakfast with a number of items unavailable, eg rolls, croissants. Certainly not a luxury hotel. We wouldn't recommend this in a million years.
Lovely relaxing stay
We really enjoyed re-visiting the hotel where we got married. The staff were attentive and the room was quirky and comfortable. Had a supervening meal and breakfast in the restaurant. Lovely place!
