To Sleep, Perchance to Dream ....
We booked a Special Offer for two nights, in a Superior Room with Breakfast and a 50 allowance (per couple) for an evening meal. We also had tickets to visit any 3 of 5 Shakespeare related houses.
The hotel was easy to find, had good secure parking and we were warmly received. Our room was called Magnolia and looked out onto a side street where (unfortunately) building work was being undertaken. However it was not noisy or dusty and didn't disturb us at all.
The room was warm and the Air Con would not move below 18 deg and so the room was always too warm! I would not describe the room as 'Superior'. Yes it had dressing gowns and six pillows and 4 cushions on the bed - don't know what we are supposed to do with them at night - but it wasn't big or indeed overly comfortable. It was adequate.
Location of the hotel is superb, in the centre of town, RSC Theatre opposite and the River Avon over the road. The City Tour Bus stops outside the hotel as well. Brilliant location and a pretty hotel.
The Breakfast was very good. Plenty of choice and the cooked breakfast was a great choice. Dinner was equally good, nothing fancy but everything cooked and presented very well.
We had an issue with a curtain track that was falling down and hanging on by a single bracket. It wouldn't close properly and so let in early morning light from about 04.00. The housekeeper was very aware of it and although we reported it to Reception it wasn't dealt with and nobody gave us an explanation why.
Apart from that it was a very satisfactory stay and we would heartily recommend The Arden Hotel.
Stratford upon Avon is a lovely place to visit and the hotel just adds to the enjoyment.
Lovely Arden Hotel in Stratford
We chose the Arden for a two-night stay with another couple and found it to be in a very central location opposite the Theatre and very close to the Avon riverside. The town centre is two minutes walk away and full of good pubs and shops (not just the usual national chains) and the locals are very friendly and welcoming.
The hotel is charming, with clean rooms and very comfortable beds, and has a an unusual restaurant where absolutely everything is cooked fresh per order. This can mean a somewhat slower service than normal but is well worth the wait for their excellent food and in great variety.
We shall definitely be returning.

Overall excellent. Very surprised at extremely limited vegetarian choice on menu, except breakfast where there was a veggie choice.
Shakespeare trip
The Arden Hotel is in a perfect position for everything that Stratford has to offer being opposite the Royal Shakespeare Theatre and the river and in close proximity to cafes, shops and the Shakespeare houses. There is also secure parking and a lovely garden where visitors can relax with a drink. The room had views of the garden, all the meals in the restaurant were excellent and the staff very helpful and polite. Highly recommended
Shakespears home town

Went on a Telegraph offer. Room very good, some people may have difficulty getting in and out of the shower as the side of the bath higher than normal.
Breakfast excellent good use of local produce, shame about the French butter though. Deal included 50 voucher for dinner which didn t go very far ,wine extortionate. Much better value in surrounding pubs and restaurants.
Plus marks for not using single use plastic bottles for the complimentary water.
