Wonderful winter break

GR, Derbyshire, stayed: February 2020

The Arden hotel has an excellent central location in Stratford. It is perfect for a visit to the RSC theatre as you simply have to cross the road to the theatre door! There is secure parking, hard to find in the town, and some pleasant outdoor space. We visited in the winter months when the town was quieter and found the hotel to be warm and cosy with friendly staff to look after our needs. We eat breakfasts and evening meals in the hotel and found the menus to be varied, with freshly prepared food being the priority. Overall, a very enjoyable winter break.

Good hotel let down badly by over pretentious restaurant

Ruth W, Leicestershire, stayed: February 2020

Could not fault the hotel in any way. Lovely clean rooms and heloful reception staff. The restaurant leaves a lot to be desired. Over priced and poor quality. I ordered fillet steak the first night and there was not even 3oz of meat, served on a luke warm plate with luke warm veg. To be fair they did offer a sweet foc. The breakfast.was appalling. I could g
o on but i think you get the message.

Great location

Anon, stayed: December 2019

We arrived in the middle of the Victorian fair but the staff had responded to our email asking about car park access so that was easy.
The room was clean and comfortable although chilly as the window was open and the heating off.
It didn t take longer to warm up. It wasn t overly luxurious but well appointed.
Afternoon tea - savoury and sweet was brilliant and well explained and served by our waitress.
There isn t really a cosy lounge area to just sit although there are seating areas.
We had dinner and tried the sharing plates - great idea and the food was tasty!
Drinks are a bit pricy but not outrageous. The real usp is the location with a car park!

JC, Derbyshire, stayed: November 2019

You can't fault the location and the room was lovely, we love Stratford and you can walk everywhere from the hotel - but when we ate we dined in an empty restaurant and the staff were adequate rather than excellent.
There was a mix up with the room rate and they didn't realise we were on the OPL pakage.
