Best base possible for trip to Shakesphere theatre
We were made very welcome on a cold winters day, the room was clean and comfortable. Quiet as requested. Afternoon tea was extensive and we enjoyed a very nice meal on our second night.

Location location location
A comfortable hotel which could not be more convenient for the theatre.
Just missed
We stayed on a special deal at The Arden as we wanted to go to The Tempest. The hotel was welcoming but at the first dinner the waiter was not on the ball, assuming, careless and forgetful. We brushed that aside and had a good night and day. When we returned to our room in the afternoon the toilet had not been cleaned and windowlene had been left in the bathroom. Again we left this and saw a fantastic play in the evening. At breakfast the next day a waitress walked, at speed, into the jaw of my partner with a plate (I was not there at this moment). It shook her up, the manager got her ice, but the hit caused bruising and pain. As we left we saw the duty manager who said that we would be offered a reduced stay at any hotel in their chain, because of the sad ending to our stay, but this has not been forthcoming.

Loved the hotel perfect location
We will definitely use this hotel again. Just a couple of tiny issues. We felt the floor we stayed on was uncomfortably warm and even with the air con it was still hot. I have nothing to say about the room itself it was wonderful. We ate in the brasserie, the food was great but we were put so close to the couples at the next table we felt we were dining with them and we left before dessert as my husband was embarrassed to hear all of their conversations and they could hear ours.

Our group found the rooms very well equiped and comfortable. The taps for the shower and bath were difficult to master, also I found the door handles too stiff and heavy. There are too many steps in the building for some people.
We had excellent service at dinner and the food was good and well presented. All staff were extremely helpful.
A Classy Hotel in a Fantastic Location
This is a lovely hotel in a fantastic location. Staff are friendly and helpful and the rooms are luxurious. The terrace is a great place to have a drink and watch the world go by.
A slightly limited dinner menu and high prices stops this hotel from being 5 star all round.
