Short break in late September 2019

We thought the Arden Hotel has lost its former glory, carpets threadbare, the food in the restaurant has gone downhill. Poor menu presentation, the menu stated daily specials, when asked what they were, the answer was "there are none"? They are all special? I don't think so.
However the staff were lovely and very helpful.

enjoyable stay

We had a lovely time at the Arden Hotel. However, there were items on our bill which shouldn't have been there, which was a shame as it showed a lack of care. This would not deter us from going back, as the hotel has a nice atmosphere and the restaurant staff were excellent.

Great place to say

The Arden is a lovely hotel. It s very comfortable. The rooms are well designed with lovely furnishings. Great to have a walk in shower when so many hotels don t do them anymore. The restaurant is very good although the menu is not as good as it used to be. The breakfast was excellent. Good service in the hotel. The location is absolutely perfect for a visit to the theatre. Tickets to the Shakespeare museums was also a bonus.

First time I have been to Stratford and I couldn t have chosen a better hotel. The location was perfect and the quality of the rooms was excellent. Nice welcome on arrival. Had a fabulous evening meal and the selection for breakfast was fantastic.

Rather disappointing

Although we were left chocolates in our room for my friends birthday this is where I feel the customer service ended. The staff didn t seem to know what package we were on - our welcome drink wasn t provided to us until we asked even though I had sent a specific email. The restaurant staff weren t very helpful or knowledgeable- we changed our reservation from 8 to 8.30 wouldn t have done this if we d known it closed at 9 - very rushed and spoilt our evening. Reception staff not very helpful when requesting to find our gin tasting - wasn t informed of code to get out of car park so had to park car and return to reception- basic things really. Would not choose to return - a very disappointing experience- such a pity as it was a special occasion.

No review title

Only one complaint . At breakfast my cooked breakfast was served to me while I was still eating my cereal. . I think that the staff should have given us time to finish one thing before serving another . My husband was halfway through his cooked breakfast before I started mine . It all felt a little rushed Tea & coffee also served at the start of meal so had gone cold before we had finished . The evening meal was totally different. . Very relaxed and waiters very helpful . I think our waiter was Emile . He was very attentive & very helpful .

A nice hotel and very convenient for the theatre.Vouchers for visiting Shakespeare houses a bonus.
