Relaxing Break

The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was good and comfortable.

Beautiful hotel and grounds, great food, suite a little disappointing

Had a 3 night luxury break in early Sept, the Covid19 hygiene measures 'stuff' was really well done but staff were clearly overworked in the restaurant so lacking consistency (but all lovely). Location is wonderful and ambience great. Food was excellent.
However, we deliberately booked into one of the 'Opulent suites' for maximum luxury and indulgence but were disappointed on arrival to find that it was just a nicely appointed en-suite bedroom with no additional seating areas or features, and in fact clothes storage was cramped - we didn't feel we could order room service as there was nowhere to eat a meal (other than sitting on the bed) for example. The views from room were beautiful and quality of furnishings good but as they clearly have some high quality suites, it was a let down to pay the same for something clearly a grade lower... as hotel seemed very busy and so much effort has to go into deep cleaning before guests we did not feel we could ask to be moved to another room... but it took the edge off the experience.
If we stayed again I would not waste money on a 'suite'.

Lovely location, although room wasn't 'a touch of class'

We had a wonderful couple of nights stay early September. Then hotel was convenient to explore the north Cotswolds and easy to access from the motorway. The food in the restaurant was good quality and a good selection. Staff were welcoming and accommodating, given the restrictions in place. The room was compact and certainly didn't feel 'a touch of class' as advertised ... it wasn't somewhere you would want to spend time. It look three calls over 4 hours to have toiletries replenished. We would stay again as the overall experience was good.

Pleasant break in hotel with lovely views

Arrived to be told there was no booking for us - blamed Off Peak Luxury - receptionist not helpful. After insisting she spoke to someone else, we had our room/package confirmed. Other reception staff were more helpful, together with very good bar & restaurant staff; the food, wine & cocktails were excellent.
Room was functional as we had our dog with us, which was fine; views were lovely, as were the surrounding walks, including into Tewkesbury town centre.
Most people adhered to social distancing rules, but there was often a lack of seating in the lounge & bar areas, due to the restrictions. All in all a pleasant break that we thought was good value, due to a discounted offer through OPL. Great place if you want to golf.

Pleasant Stay

Staff very attentive and friendly. Hotel is in a good location. 4/5 as we were served non-vegan meals on two occasions and I believe it's just down to education of staff.
