Unfortunate first impressions

Jan, Warwickshire, stayed: August 2020

I booked this spa as a treat for my daughters 40th birthday as she was not able to have a birthday party that we had planned for her. They have worked all the way through the covid issue which has been very stressful for them as they have a 3 year old. They needed a well deserved break and rest. To my dismay my daughter told me that the receptionist was very rude to her when she checked in and this put a dampner on the start of their weekend. The duty manager did try to turn things around, but i am very upset at what happened.

Room was very hot no air conditioning

Anon, stayed: August 2020

Hotel was OK and would of been excellent if they could do something about the location of the rooms. No air coming in the windows. The front of the hotel was cool but not the back which made the rooms very hot.

our stay at Tewkesbury Park Hotel

Anon, stayed: August 2020

The hotel and setting is lovely and the staff are friendly and helpful and work hard to look after their customers.

We had to book meals in advance which were so restricted with the times (and fully booked) that it did not suit our schedule at all.

Our room was extremely hot and we had to keep climbing up and down stairs as no lift. We did not receive a tidy up of our room and when we queried this we were asked if we were staying the night which was quite surprising as we had booked 2 nights and thought the staff should know this.

The bar staff were lovely but the drinks overpriced.

Good deal, great comfy bed , but to much furniture made room feel small.

ML, Devon, stayed: August 2020

Stayed here on a one night deal, the staff were very helpful , the setting was excellent and the deal was good , the only thing I felt let it down was the room , it was a small room which wouldn t have been too bad but there was a large fireside typed chair, a table, a desk, another chair, a nice size very comfy bed and a built in wardrobe which was just to much furniture with the large chair and table blocking the french door to outside. The room was a bit tired with cracks and repairs not finished , and the small bathroom had a leaking shower and the toilet flush just kept going and no air conditioning which on a night which was 18 degrees was a bit disappointing in fairness there was a fan but it wasn t quite man enough .
I would stay here again but maybe try and upgrade the room, all in all it was a good value deal and in these strange times the staff did their very best to please .

Birthday weekend

Julie N, Wiltshire, stayed: July 2020

Had a fabulous birthday weekend. Staff were brilliant, especially Henry the manager.
Nothing was too much trouble. We could not fault anything about this relaxing place.
Enjoyed it so much we are returning again in two weeks time for a short stay.

Very welcoming on arrival. Good value for money in a beautiful location that is close to the town centre and within easy reach of Cheltenham.

Nice but not perfect

Marketa S, Oxfordshire, stayed: July 2020

I booked a nights stay for my wifes Birthday, the package said, a bottle of prosecco in the room on arrival but it wasnt there, I had to call reception and they served it with our lunch. Not the nice surprise I was hope for. The lunch was nice, the local sparkling wine was nice and the wine list was good. The 3 course evening meal that came with the package was set for 19.30. The starters were lovely and so was the mains. The desserts were not so good. Iasyly I dressed up for the evening and inbetween mains and desserts we ordered 2 beers and a litre of water which the waiter tripped and completely covered me, I was soaking wet with no spare clothes so after dinner i had to sit drenched in beer until we went to bed. I did notice that my bill for extra drink and food was less than I expected so I am guessing they compensated me by deducting a bottle of wine. I appreciate they did that but being soaked completely ruined the night. Shame
