Lovely hotel in a good location
A modern hotel with excellent rooms and facilities. We stayed 3 nights and were disappointed that it was the same dinner menu each night.
Fantastic rooms, Great location, Excellent food
Stayed one night. Room excellent, very clean with a superb view of the golf course and grounds and was clean with a luxury finish. The evening meal in the restaurant was very good with the breakfast to a very high standard in terms of both quality and choice. Only slight let down would be the front desk staff who came across as somewhat aloof which was not appropriate for a hotel if this type.
Great Hotel, food was a let down
Great Hotel, lovely room, helpful friendly staff and a beautiful location.
Unfortunately all this was let down by expensive drinks and overpriced food, the portions were tiny and the house wine was 25/bottle.
After our 3 course meal we were left feeling hungry and couldn t wait for our breakfast.
I would love to say breakfast was worth the wait but when we went to the restaurant at 9am (as arranged) there wasn t much left and what there was had dried out completely.
It s a real shame that such a lovely hotel was let down by the food, it s a pity there is no option to upload photos to my review as I took a photo of my wife s portion of gateau and it was literally smaller than her fork - honestly it was ridiculous, so much so it would be hilarious if it hadn t been so expensive.
Relaxing time
The whole experience was great- highly recommended- the staff were friendly and the location was perfect
Relaxing stay
Restaurant menu limited and we were there 3 nights so boring and it doesn't change all season.
Maybe bar snack should be available all day as an alternative
A wonderful two night break
Altogether a very pleasant stay in a wonderful parkland setting. Very good value for money with this special offer.
Interesting and varied restaurant menu with excellent service especially from 'Wan'. She really helped to make our stay so special with such attentive service- a real asset to the hotel.
Room had super views and was clean but on the small side. A very comfortable bed. A nice touch having the fridge with fresh milk and bottled water.
Cotswold Break
A lovely relaxing 4 day break. The hotel/grounds are stunning. The Spa was amazing. The staff where exceptional. The hotel was totally picture book perfection, I took so many photographs of inside but also the amazing gardens. So looking forward to going back.
A very pleasant, relaxing stay
This stay was for a treat for a significant birthday. Birthday greetings were offered by receptionist on our arrival which was a nice touch and she personally showed us to the room- Richard III. The room itself was lovely, spacious and nicely decorated with lovely views of the countryside and the bathroom facilities very luxurious. Our package included prosecco but the staff had also left a birthday card and a lovely platter of fruit, which was a lovely additional surprise. The room and hotel in general was spotlessly clean and staff were very pleasant and helpful. An unexpected maintenance issue with the room mid-stay was quickly resolved and a gesture of a bottle of wine for that evening's dinner was much appreciated. The restaurant food was good but a new chef's input was noticeable on our last evening and the quality of food for that evening was very good. Our waitress for that last evening, Ms Taylor was knowledgeable about the menu and wines and very attentive. Breakfast was varied and plentiful. The spa staff, particualrly Margaret went to a lot of effort to try and accomodate our complimentary treatment as we hadn't booked in advance and the massage itself was simply wonderful. The grounds are lovely. Highly recommend.
