Lovely night s stay
A well kept house with lovely surroundings. Our Manor House room was excellent and had a lovely view of the grounds. Ate in the restaurant which was delicious and all perfectly cooked with great service. Would love to stay again.
Beautiful place. Log fires with great food and drinks!
Staff excellent. Arrived early and let us check in 2 hours before! Was a wedding going on but allowed us to have a drink in the restaurant where it was nice and quiet.
Evening meal was beautiful aswell as breakfast. Lovely bar area to have a drink in front of a massive open fire.
Nice grounds and walk along the canal out the back.
perfect luxury break
We loved the combination of classic country house, fine dining and beautiful countryside at Stonehouse Court Hotel. Lovely canal-side walks from just outside and a fireside lounge bar to relax in. The option of drinks vouchers instead of daily room cleaning is a great idea. Most of all, the staff were so friendly and helpful, they really made our stay feel special.
Weekend break
The hotel was lovely and the food was delicious, if a little pricey. I thought the 10% service charge was a bit much considering the price of the food anyway. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a lovely relaxed atmosphere about the place. Good location for exploring the area. Overall a very pleasant couple of nights away.
Looks better from the outside
We stayed 6 nights here over the Christmas period including Christmas eve, Christmas day and Boxing day. We were booked into the classic rooms, the floor boards creaked, could hear the people and TV in the next room. The bathroom leaved a lot to be desired, door under sink had to be jammed closed, main door into bathroom would not close unless it was banged shut. Christmas day the hotel was open to non residents for dinner only (supposedly) but a party of 20 non residents stayed on after 5pm and took over the place. They were drunk, brash, ignorant and intimidated the residents and were allowed to get away with it, they even raided the evening time buffet which was laid on for residents as part of our Christmas package.
To be fair, when i complained to management we were offer a room for the last two nights of our stay in the manor part of the hotel which is plush compared to the classic part we were in. It had 4 poster bed, smart TV, very spacious room and a lovely bathroom.
The staff were absolutely brilliant, we have stayed in a lot of places but we have never come across such genuine warm friendly helpful staff, its the staff that make this place.
Delightful historic manor house.
We enjoyed our 2 night stay with you. Would be nice to see it in the summer - nicely situated so close to the canal and we enjoyed a lovely walk to Stroud along the canal path. Lovely grounds. Dining room a little chilly but so nice that a fire seemed to burn all day in the lounge area. Food and service of a high standard.
A lovely stay
We had an overnight stop here to break a long journey. Next time we go we will make it a destination.
The setting was special and we plan to walk along the canal to explore the area ...
Would definitely recommend.
Overall, very disappointing especially the food! Dinner poor! Breakfast abysmal!!!
For this type of hotel, breakfast should have been White Table cloths and waitress service with menu.
The dinner menu was poor as was the bar service I asked for a Campari and soda sorry we don t have any Campari
What a disappointment
We would not visit again.
