Attractive hotel offering good service

Andrew H, West Midlands, stayed: January 2020

A lovely attractive hotel fusing traditional with modern touches. Upon arrival we were greeted by a
Very friendly welcome.
During our stay the staff were always attentive and friendly. The service was really good.
The room we stayed in was comfortable if a bit tatty in places. The bathroom especially could have done with a bit of tidying up and modernisation.

Dianne

Dianne, Somerset, stayed: February 2022

We had a pleasant stay .The only slight complaint was the breakfast ,I ordered avocado on toast and it arrived on plain bread not sour dough and the avocado was scooped onto the toast ,not mashed with lemon or seasoned so disappointing. Some of the staff seemed new and undertrained. A lovely setting and a tasty dinner.

Nice short break

Christopher, Gloucestershire, stayed: November 2021

We had a really nice two night break here.
Room was nice, and I believe that all the rooms are a little different.
The ambience in the restaurant and bar area is very relaxing and the food was excellent.
Our only gripe was that, on arrival, they had no knowledge of our payment, as it was through a third party, and so took some time to resolve. Apart from this we had a very enjoyable and relaxing time.

Lovely Cotswold hotel

Anon, stayed: July 2021

This is a lovely hotel with plenty of outdoor seating in the grounds. Our room (room 1) on the ground floor seemed to be set up for wheelchair users, which we were not. Miniscule wash basin in the bathroom, otherwise nice room. As we were just coming out of covid restrictions, there was no room service or cleaning of rooms. The restaurant food was adequate, but not great. The staff, especially on reception, were friendly and helpful.

To be absolutely honest, we were a little disappointed, and reading about the history of the hotel in the room information, we felt it had perhaps seen better days and higher standards in the past.
