Lovely, boutique hotel in standout location

Anon, stayed: September 2016

This was the first time I'd booked a break via Offpeak Luxury and the hotel more than lived up to expectation. From what we saw of the Cotswolds during our short stay, my friend and I were pleased we'd chosen this hotel for its picture-postcard location. The hotel has great character and stylish, comfortable furnishings. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were spoiled in that we had the spa area, with its outstanding, small infinity pool, pretty much to ourselves. The only down side was that we couldn't stay more than two nights!

Excellent hotel in great location. Room was very comfortable only comment being that it was rather small and bathroom needs upgrading.  Spa was excellent and very relaxing.  Main restaurant had only just reopened after refurbishment and was lovely with great food. We did not use the bistro.

Fabulous stay again!!!!

Love this place, and now it's been given a make over love it even more. The only slight criticism I would have is that the staff need to relax a bit more and show their personalities!

We have stayed at the Noel Arms on many occasions over the past 30 years but thought that we would treat ourselves to the Cotswold House this year. Our junior suite was very disappointing. Complicated lighting systems and heating systems which required the maintainance man to explain. Cold bathroom. Limited restaurant menu and the same on both nights we dined, extremely slow service at breakfast on the Sunday, no doubt due to the wedding party there. We were promised that some compensation would be sent to us in due course but nothing has been forthcoming so far

We say...

Your comments following your stay at Cotswold House have been forwarded to the General Manager to look into.

Firstly the bathroom radiator. He is sorry that this was cold which was due to a faulty valve and has since been replaced. The heating in the bedroom is operated by an on/off switch, then you select the temperature and fan speed. These are the same in every room so he is unsure why there was an issue.  Regarding the food, fine dining cannot change that regularly with the level of food the restaurant serve, however they also have a Bistro as an alternative offering a wide choice plus daily changing specials. He would like to apologise for the breakfast service on the Sunday. They can cope happily with a full house but guests of the wedding party staying at The Noel Arms joined them and they had difficulty coping with the extra customers.

The General Manager will contact you direct in order to resolve the situation and we are sorry to hear that your stay was not to your satisfaction.

Kind regards

Offpeakluxury
