Very shabby could do with decorating through out . Stayed in suite outside Hotel building. Very expensive but not with the money. Came back one afternoon to find the handyman relaxing on the sofa talking on his phone. When I complained the receptionist laughed and said that was unbelievable . Not sure that he acted on the situation . Having said that the waiting staff were lovely especially Stefan Would stay again because of Fig restaurant and Location

Beautiful Location
We enjoyed our stay. The town itself is just lovely and very traditional - a true Cotswold Market Town. The hotel was nice, with a welcoming reception area and comfortable rooms. However, we did feel the overall customer service and ambience could be improved. The spa was relaxing and we enjoyed some treatments too. It was a shame the steam room didn't work on our second day as without it, it didn't provide as much relaxation but the spa overall was very nice. Excellent facial. The food in the hotel was excellent - very delicious and lots to choose from. We had hoped for more of an ambient atmosphere though.
An average hotel.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. However, they were always rushed off their feet, especially at breakfast. More staff should have been on over the bank holiday weekend.
We booked a superior room, but we wouldn t call the rooms superior, just average.
On the Sunday morning at 6:30am, we were woken by very loud Morris dancers and loud music outside the room which was very annoying. It should have been arranged for a later time in the morning so people could appreciate them. The hotel staff said they did not know about it.
The spa was ok, but the steam room was too hot and we couldn t go in. The massage was good.
The best part was the very good food at dinner which we really enjoyed.
Overall an average hotel, we were expecting better for the price per night.

Hotel and staff were wonderful however the food was very disappointing;the evening dinner was presented cold and when returned to the kitchen it still came back cold and therefore was not edible, the breakfast was also very disappointing ;we have stayed in numerous hotels but this is the first time we have had any complaints
Anniversary Getaway
We were incredibly excited to have a 2 night stay at The Cotswold Hotel. As it was a special occasion, I upgraded our room to a Junior Suite. The room was disappointing for the additional cost. When booking my treatment at the Spa, I was advised they were in the process of changing products and had a limited selection of treatments. I had a facial and it was disappointing, not helped by the lady sniffing and clearing a cough throughout which was far from relaxing. The Spa was nice but the steam room had no lights and the shower did not work. We had evening meals booked both nights. I requested to eat in The Fig for fine dining but was told they only had the one restaurant available. The food was ok but over priced for what it was and the scallops I had were over cooked. We changed our second night to their sister hotel and noted at least 4 other guests complained about the service and quality of food. Whilst ours came out hot, I believe this was due to it being blasted in a microwave, the pork chop and chips were all dry, even with gravy. All in all our stay was disappointing and not the 5 star mini break we were promised and certainly not worth the money that we paid.
Spa weekend
Lovely old hotel in very pretty Chipping Campden.
Really nice spacious bedroom but with a ridiculous amount of lights & a whole panel on the wall to work them! Ceiling lights, side lights, a complete light show for the bathroom including disco lights over the bath! fireplace lights, wardrobe lights, desk lights & tea making corner lights but you had to stumble around in the dark trying to push the right button on the panel & no way you could keep a small light on in the bathroom to stop you breaking an ankle stumbling on the two steps down into it for nighttime trips to the loo.
Breakfast was preordered & disappointing, very greasy fried breakfast & very sparse buffet of cereal & pastries etc. Also they offer a 10am sitting but rush you to finish by clearing everything away from the buffet. On the Sunday we had cold toast with no butter & when we asked for more they bought the toast again with no butter, by the time we got the butter, the toast was cold.
Dinner was ok, not exceptional.
The spa was small but pleasant & you book a two hour slot, unfortunately there were not enough loungers for everybody & my friend & I shared one, people were arriving after us with nowhere to sit & it s awkward in such a small space.
Both hand basins in our bathroom were leaking from the U bends leaving quite a puddle on the floor, maintenance came to fix them but they still leaked.
Nice location
Hotel is in a great location in the middle of the village.
Beautiful old building with nice grounds.
Decor is nice, but a bit tired/rough and could do with a freshen up.
Wi-Fi poor and room facilities are a bit basic.
Staff are friendly, but service at breakfast isn t great- especially as you pre-order and book times, so shouldn t be a surprise when they are busy.
Spa is nice but only semi-related to the hotel, so be sure to book well in advance.
Compared to other hotels we ve stayed at for similar costs this one just doesn t compete.
