Top value for money
We took advantage of a mid week stopover at Charingworth on our way to visit family in Somerset . As it was just an overnight the package was important.
The hotel has recently changed hands since our last visit and this has resulted in some upgrading which was welcome . It is anticipated that more change is planned in the future .
Hopefully the changes will not be passed on to customers.
The food is great and the staff tremendous and this , thankfully, has not changes
Fabulous house with stunning views
Unfortunately we both had a stomach bug at the time of our stat - I am certain that it started before we arrived so certainly nothing to do with the hotel. As a result we both found the food to be too rich.
However, the staff were very friendly and helpful and the setting of the hotel quite stunning.
As we were both "under the weather" during our stay, it is impossible to give a proper review.
4 night stay
We enjoyed our stay. The food was excellent but we did find the chairs a little low. Our room was good as it was easily accessed. I am not sure whether people with mobility problems would manage some of the them.

Beautiful Manor House
Enjoyed a lovely relaxing stay here which was a gift from a relative. Plus points were - excellent food, helpful staff, beautiful setting. We had our dog with us & nothing was too much trouble for him, even had his own sausage at breakfast! Great location for visiting many of the charming Cotswold villages. Swimming pool was a lovely extra, a little cold but fine once you got swimming. Negatives were, we requested a hot tub & although it was confirmed we would definitely have one 2 days before, we were then advised on the day before we arrived they were no longer available. Confusion amongst some staff members. There were lovely walks around the grounds but nowhere to walk to directly from the manor. Room lovely & comfotable but a little dated.
Excellent and just what we needed.
Both my friend and i had a difficult year so came to the Cotswolds to escape everything. Charingworth Manor is lovely, set in its own grounds it looks lovely as you drive up the hill to the main house. The staff were very helpful upon arrival.
We used to the pool during our stay. I would suggest that in the winter the temperature of the water could be a little warmer. But other than that it was good having a pool on site.
The best part of our stay was the location of the manor, the communal areas and the food. That's the best food i have had at a hotel for years. The 3 course evening meal was lovely and i was really impressed with the quality of the breakfast. To the point i would have happily taken some of it home with me. Thank you again.
Probably the best yet
We've stayed at some nice places with Offpeak, but this is probably the best yet. Nice hotel, nice setting, wonderful food.
Certainly not the cheapest, but that's fair enough.
