Lovely hotel with stunning panoramic views

TJH, Surrey, stayed: March 2018

Lovely location, beautiful building and grounds, comfortable room with panoramic views, excellent food, all topped off by helpful and friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay in March 2018, however, the hotel can get a bit hectic at times bearing in mind that it is primarily a 'wedding venue' (2 weddings took place the weekend we were there). Nevertheless, they do have a separate Orangery for these functions which is sited away from the main building and does not really detract from your stay. We certainly would not hesitate to stay there again.

IM, derbyshire, stayed: March 2018

I saw the advert in the Telegraph for Wood Norton and as it was accessible for a short break and such a bargain, I booked it for a March birthday break. Without asking we were given the best upgrade possible, shear luxury. The hotel and grounds were beautiful and the staff lovely.
Breakfasts were very satisfactory and the evening meal a gourmets delight although a little slow to be served but hey we were in no hurry. Easy to get to so many places from there, we opted for Worcester, I definitely wasn't ready to leave and will go again in the summer when you can sit outside in the lovely gardens.

IN THE SNOW

JR, Herefordshire, stayed: March 2018

We stayed for a 2 night (Daily Telegraph) break for our wedding anniversary and were delighted to be upgraded on arrival by which time the fountain had frozen and there was snow on the ground. We loved our room with its huge bed and big bathroom and thankfully, an effective heating system. The small wardrobe and other bedroom furniture do not do this wonderful panelled room justice. All staff were polite, friendly and helpful; service was excellent. Duty managers and Receptionists were welcoming and efficient. Breakfasts were excellent but we were disappointed with the dinner menu which we felt was limited and over-priced. We really enjoyed afternoon tea by the log fire. When the time came to leave on 3rd March we discovered that all our home village's approach roads were impassable following the heavy snow and that we could not return home that day. Fortunately, we were able to keep our (very expensive) room at a discounted price for an extra night and another splendid breakfast and got home safely the following day. Although all staff we encountered were excellent we would single out the on-duty receptionist on 3rd March whose efficient assistance was highly appreciated.

Very enjoyable break

Steven, West Yorkshire, stayed: November 2017

We had a very nice stay at the Wood Norton.

Excellent staff, good food and choices, very welcoming. Splendid room overlooking the garden with plenty of space and large bathroom.

Nice quiet location back from the main road even though there is some building work taking place on the adjacent land.

The only slight minor niggle was that it was cold in the gourmet restaurant; took the edge off an enjoyable evening. The main restaurant was much warmer.

Overall recommended.

Fabulous

Clare G, West Midlands, stayed: November 2017

We stayed there on 3rd November ....it was a voucher given to us in the summer from family for our BIG birthdays!! thought we'd save it to cheer us up as winter creeps in!!!! It was quiet so we were given an upgraded room. Dorothee themed room absolutely fabulous!!! We did the taster 7 course the kitchen served by the delightfully attentive Magda. Breakfast was !! with quality sourced produce. We had a lovely time!!!
