Excellent wine & food in a beatiful location
We had a two night stay at The Swan. The garden cottage room was delightful. We had not expected the food to be as good as it was - the two dinners we had were excellent. A good wine list with wines not outrageously marked-up and very pleasant, helpful staff.
Breakfast was exceptionally good.
Super location in Bibury but beds could be much better
Location in Bibury is excellent, a quintessential Cotswold village with loads of charm. Nice room and excellent bathroom, let down by the uncomfortable and very squeaky bed.
Delightful hotel in a charming location.
I stayed at the Swan at Bibury with my husband for two nights as we needed a short relaxing break.
It was just the ticket - picturesque, comfortable and lovely staff. I felt we got a good deal through off peak luxury for a hotel of that calibre. We enjoyed wandering around the hotel gardens, and the rest of Bibury, and visited the trout farm a stone s throw away.
I would like to give a special mention to the lovely lady with blonde hair who served us at breakfast both mornings and was so warm and chatty. It makes such a difference to the ambience of a hotel to have staff like that.

Excellent
I booked 2 night break at Swan as a treat for my husband's recent 'milestone' birthday as he did mention few months ago how much he'd like to visit Bibury, so took his comments on board. It was a little more than we would normally pay, but it was worth every penny. From check in to check out, we felt most welcome. all the staff were lovely and did everything possible to make our stay perfect. Room was clean, spacious and very pretty, loved the little extras included. We dined in restaurant, food was excellent and service was exceptional. Bibury is a beautiful village. We will be back.
Really lovely staff.
We had lots of lovely smiles when we arrived, and the receptionist was so helpful. I had upgraded our room to a four poster, but when I saw the size of bed, it was too small, as my husband was just getting over a cancer operation.and we needed a larger bed.. The staff were obliging, and found us a king size bed, although the room was not nearly as nice as the Swan room, we settled for a larger bed. .The restaurant was okay, but I think it was a Bistro place? I was thinking of nice white linen table clothes, but unfortunately, no! At a 4 star hotel, you usually have a smart dining room for guests. I have to say the food was good, but the breakfasts were to die for. Amazing, the best ever. My daughter had her honeymoon at this hotel, and comes back most years as they love it.
Short break
We thought the room was on the small side. Checking in and out was awkward as they initially couldn t find our reservation and they were looking at the wrong sheet. Checking out they charged us for a meal which was included in our deal so good that we checked it carefully. We were charged rather a lot for tips but didn t change it.
Beautiful, relaxing mini-moon
A lovely, relaxing break in picturesque scenery. We had lovely long walks with our dog, ate delicious food (the fresh trout from the farm across the road is a must!) and enjoyed intimate, unhurried evenings over excellent wines in the courtyard. Couldn't ask for more!
