Night away with family
Great hotel to catch up with family. Bar to chill out in during the afternoon. Superb restaurant for evening meal. Rooms good size. Would recommend.
Lovely weekend retreat.
I have already sent a review to the hotel, but just a few lines to say that both my wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our three nights at the The Bear and will visit again in the future.
Great Weekend Break
We booked one night with friends on a DBB basis. It was super value for money. The room was lovely and clean with a comfortable bed and the food in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast was excellent with nothing too much trouble. Great staff on check-in and in the bar and restaurant. A really lovely stay
Another very enjoyable stay.
Our third time at The Bear this year and another thoroughly enjoyable stay. First class service, food and accommodation. It is the people who make the difference and all the staff are extremely helpful, friendly and cheerful. Looking forward to returning in November.
Delightful hotel
We were very impressed with the The Bear of Rodborough, the setting, our room and the excellent restaurant. Breakfast choice and quality were outstanding, and all staff very friendly and efficient. We would certainly recommend The Bear to friends.
Lovely to be back
Stayed at The Bear before and returned as it is a lovely location - lots of good views and walking around Rodborough Common and the Golden Valley. The hotel serves excellent food and the staff are generally very friendly, welcoming and attentive. The staff made it a lovely stay again, despite them being busy hosting a big wedding as well.
Lovely location
Great visit to a hotel I visited many years ago on business, however this time on a romantic break. Wonderful location with free range cows! Atmospheric building full of characture, lovely room with four poster. Food was lovely, will definitely be back.
Promise fulfilled
53 years ago my future husband promised that when he could afford it we would stay at The Bear. We finally did it, and it came up to all our expectations. For me it was a return to where I grew up and the glorious countryside did not disappoint. Hopefully we will be back.
